To tint, or not to tint
Hey guys, i'm debating whether or not to put a light tint on, say 35 on my silver rex wagon. I think tints look great on the rally blue, but i'm not sure how they'll look on a silver wagon, any opinions...I have bbs rk's and will soon get painted skirts, and possibly uk300's

TINT IT!!!
The wagon should look just as good... but I dunno what a light tint would to, I got 80% all around ;)

YES !!! Looks great and cuts down on headlight glare. It also helps keeps the car cooler in the summer. I've had tint on every vechile I've had and feel so exposed w/out it ;)

I have a sliver wagon with 35. If you search the members gallery for me, you will find it. Otherwise, I can post a pic tonight when I get home from work. It definitely makes it look better.

You may not have to care about the po po's but your car might not pass your next state inspection. Unless you can do private inspections and you know someone. Most states will not pass cars with illegal tint. My friend had a nice Durango with tint on the front windows to match the rear and they refused to pass him until he pulled it off.

I have 20% on my silver Legacy Wagon. You can usually go darker on wagons b/c of the extra windows...makes the tint look lighter.
30% is pretty light and should be fine almost anywhere in the states...don't know about California...I think they are more anal about tint. Call the cop shop and see what the laws are.
I say tint anyways...makes the car look way better...you can always tell the cop you just moved from a different state...like Wyoming where 5% tint is legal.

Tint it but don't go too dark. I tinted the 4 side windows myself with 15% but had Discovery Tint do the rear.
Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and picked the wrong shade for the back window (limo tint) and now all I can see though the rear view mirror is shadows.
Go with 15-20% at the darkest to get good visibility out of the car. It's dark enough so people can't see what you have in the back of your car without really looking hard. They can't see anything in the back with the limo tint.
Discovery Tint does a very good job and has very reasonable prices. Just make sure you pick the right shade. Unfortunately, I can't afford to have them remove the tint and change it. I guess I'll have to live with it for a while (or figure out the trick to putting tint on the back window).

No tint:

20% ONYX metal tint:

night a day difference. I don't feel like everyone is staring at me now, plus the SUN doesn't beat down on me (getting ready for TX summer heat).
I'd recommend the metal film because it'll never fade like Ink films do. They also reflect more UV.

80%???
Is it just me, or wouldn't that be REALLY light? The lower the percentage, the darker the tint. (gets you thinking about whether thats actually HIS car)

Its all in how you look at it
80% of light blocked = 20% of light allowed to pass
80% of light blocked = 20% of light allowed to pass

what percentage are those silky? they are different front and rear yes...any other angles... thanks

I got 25% up front and 15% in the back with a 15% stripe on the windshield for my silver wagon. Visibility is very good at night. Although the fronts are a little light, you cant be too careful when you live in california.

Hehe... sorry about the confusion, it doesn't have anything to do with Canada or US... it'a the actual company that decides on their system. My first car I tinted was with Lebeau and they use the higher is lighter, this time I went with 3M and it's the other around!

This very minute my Aspen White Wagon is undergoing a tint at Auto One. Lightest on the front windows, next darker shade on the rear doors and next darkest on the rear hatch windows.
Do it! Do it! Do it!
