Various in-cabin camera mounts? part 1

Various in-cabin camera mounts?
I was curious to know if there are alternative in-cabin camera mounts out there. I do not have a harness bar or roll cage, nor do I have detachable headrests (those are the only types of mounts Ive seen).

Anyone have any leads? Thanks!

I just picked up a suction cup mount from chasecam.com and it works very well with my lightweight camera.

there are many suction cup mounts out there that even t.v. shows use. also, there is a thread on here about usng the rear decklid babyseat strap mount to make a camera mount. I kinda have some nowledge on alternative camera mounts cause I have looking around for about 2 months now. PM me if you need help searching.

what kind of seat do you have? i have the solid back seats and my video camera fits in the hole nicely

I've got Bride Xax's. I'm going to do some more detective work on the suction cup mounts. Thanks guys!

If you want I can post up a short test video I made of the mount outside the car with my still camera in movie mode.
Mr. Sadface 02-02-2006 08:55 PM

That would actually be helpful. Thanks!

Just got one of these as well. I'm gonna test it out this weekend. From what I can tell so far, the mount is awesome!

i just did the DIY mount over at rs25 that mounts to the child restraint anchor points... it works pretty well for a forward cam.
outferno 02-22-2006 03:15 AM

Do you have a link for the rs25 mod?

you can use the headrest mount on the rear seat head rests as you have a wagon.

that's the DIY and this is without the lower stabilization bar... the way i did it the stabilization bar wasn't really stable, so, this isn't such a bad thing...

I once saw a BMW that the owner had made a camera mount using a beam mounted to the grab handles above each rear seat. the bar ran across the back seat and the camera was slung under the beam and secured with a safety strap to the rear child seat anchors. wish I would have had a camera on me to take pics.

Here's what I ended up nabbing (sorry for the color in the pics, it was dark here and I didn't use flash). It's the Cruise Cam mount. I'll be testing it out tomorrow!

I made a mount that attaches to the lower bolts on the rear seat. I can get some more pics if you would like.

It's not too bad. I have some video on here somewhere that I took with it. I'll try to find it and post it up.

Mr. Sadface 03-04-2006 03:41 PM

What type of material did you use to make your mount?
