Vinyl on a show car???

I think this is the right place to ask this...
But I cant decide what I should do about vinyl on my car...
Here is how my car looks

I dont know if I should put sponsor stickers on my car or put no vinyl on my car. Or if I should just leave the windshield vinyl on and redo it because its crooked. Please someone let me know what they think I should do.

I dig the car, but I don't think it needs vinyl. Redo the AXIS logo if it bothers you, but other than that, it's looking damn nice. You could do sponsors... if you had sponsors. If you don't have sponsors, don't do it.
| dRu888 | 02-15-2004 10:08 PM |
i don't think you should unless your sponsors force you to.
| milla | 02-15-2004 10:14 PM |
Well at this stage I only got 2 sponsors They didnt say what they want me to do yet. But the first show is next weekend and i am not sure what I want to do yet. I was also thinking about putting a small accent down the side of the car. But i am not sure

Put their stickers on a clear piece of plexiglass and lean it up against one of your wheels during the show.

yeah deffinately do that
or use it as a hood prop a lot of people go that route,
if you have access to it, possibly get the plexi etched with the subaru logo at the top or something

I would move the Toyo banner to the rear window (bottom would look good and blend into the trunk well).
On another note, what seat's are those? Do you have interior pics?
NICE car though, very well done. Not 100% my taste, but damn, you put a nice car together.

I dont have interior pics yet. This week I should have some good ones.
The seats are tenzo racing seats. They are a great seat for the price.
Here is a crappy pic of the seat when I was installing everything

no offense dude....but you spent the money on cam lock Sparco harnesses but put cheesy Tenzo Rally seats in it?? why?
| milla | 02-16-2004 09:30 AM |
I really like the Tenzo seats... For what I use my car for they suits me just fine. I got a package deal on the harness's and the harness bar.
BTW why you say there cheesy?

I dunno...I sell those seats at my work. They dont really hold you well, the material isnt bad though...I just fell they are a little pricey for the quality that they are...They are good if you want new seats and just want a cheap reclinable seat.
do as you wish :D not hating , just not a fan;) BTW: that car is HOT! glad to see another RS'er hooking thier shiite up

I paid 500 for both seats... So for the price I cant complain. Now if you pay retail prices for those seats yea I can see your point.

if you want to put stickers on, do it. if you don't, then don't! don't worry too much about what other people say. in the end, it's YOUR CAR. i'm going to put stickers on my car. i personally think it looks good IF DONE TASTEFULLY!
now as far as the sponsors. i would definatly put their stickers on. you are getting good deals and/or free stuff. i personally think that the least you could do is put their stickers on the car to represent them and advertise for them, even if it's just a little sticker.
BTW, props on the car man. it's looking G O O D!

skimp on the harness bar. Speedware. I have that bar. Pretty and stiff. Now I need to get the fire extinguisher.

ok, youve obviously spent alot of money and time on your car...i think vinyl would ruin it...
| gooter80 | 02-16-2004 09:24 PM |
please dont put vinyl on it, that car hurts my eyes already as it is.
| InfamousDX | 02-16-2004 09:48 PM |
Good vinyl would add to it, but in this case, you already have enough silver/black color contrast.
| Chopstixx | 02-16-2004 10:50 PM |
once again, i like your car man. good job. I think vinyl sponsors goin down the side of the door would look OK.
off topic - was it a pain to get the stock scoop on the siebon hood? i really want that hood...but without a reverse scoop.

No vinyl. I'd remove what is there now. The car is sooo clean, don't muck it up with stickers.
I totally agree with the other posters that said get a piece of plexiglass to use as a hood prop. Or incorporate the stickers into some sort of display, but not on the car.

If you do put vinyl on your car, wax the crap out of the car before you install it so you can remove it easily if you choose. Just dont go vinyl crazy. I had a flame shade shift graphic on my PSM...ripped it off 2 months later after I got it. IMO one of the biigest wastes of money to put into a car. Just get a paintjob or something that will last. Just my 2 cents.

NO vinyl... it would look awful. even just a little bit

I am not the biggest fan of stickers, but I will admit the judges look for stuff like that sadly.

Vinyl = junk!
Maybe some pinstriping or something to set it off.
But in the end it is YOUR car, do as you wish.
BTW: Those mirrors really help the looks of it out :)

Gee, that a tough one, ...being as I SELL vinyl for a living.
Subarus and vinyl can work together, but only for done right. For all you vinyl haters, check out the Undergound WRX gallery at www.undergroundgrfx.com for what can be done and kept tasteful.
Milla, I know we've talked a bit about adding vinyl to your car, ...i'd suggest kepping it simple for sure as not to detract for the clean lines of your car as it is. As for colors, ...your windshield banner (and any other window stickers) should be done in a 2-tone color scheme of black and silver. For graphics on your body (painted areas) go with a black and / or graphite metalllic shadow or outline.
Again, Subarus aren't like Hondas, ...they tend to look very out of place unless done right or keeping with Subaru themed graphics.
Greg ;)

I'm of the mind that a tasteful roll-call graphic down one or both of the doors, so long as it's discreet, can look very cool. This is especially the case if you have wacky obscure JDM parts on your car with names no one's ever heard. It's fun to listen to some people try and pronounce Espelir or Fujitsubo for the first time.
