Bronze headlight mod.

What do you guys think? I would really like to see a photoshop like this. Bronze rims look nice on nearly every color car, so I wonder how bronze headlights would look.

this sounds like a very very bad idea.

I also think that would look sweet, but not work too terribly well. Oh well, perhaps that's just my "type of person who modifies for looks and not performance" thing. Yeah, if you're going to paint it black anyways, why not just try out some bronze? Kinda reminds me of some japanese glass pieces, like sunroofs on CRXs. I think it looks neat, but again, that's my Uncle Ben's.

sounds like a pretty cool idea. I did the koji-style and painted mine a gunmetallic color and it looks pretty good...just should have let it dry a little longer. if you dont like it just paint another color over it  hehe. and do you have the bronze wheels to match it to?

^ Lets see a pic or two.

Im not sure if it would look right. I think EDM or JDM lights would be preferable.

I was planning on painting mine WRB to match the color of the car. If it don't look good, I can always paint it flat black.

This is the idea I've been tossing around for a while... but do they really look that dark/dirty? I can't tell if it's just goo on the glass/casing, or if your car's dirty (or if it's bad lighting).

Yea the car is pretty dirty but i bought them used because paranoid me didnt want to risk messing up my own stock headlights (which had seen plenty of bugs and rocks themselves and were about the same as these). THe first pic is in pretty bad lighting but thats all i have of that for now. No goo got on the glass or casing...just a well traveled plastic light cover. If you had low miles on yours and did this it would probably look better than mine. Also FYI be careful what you use to clean the plastic with lol

you just dont want to use anything too abrasive (or with too much alcohol in it) that will cause fogging or hazing of the plastic...there's one spot where i got that but it seems to have faded. still a n00b what can i say. I still like em. and i saw somewhere on one of the forums where someone did that and actually got a cool effect from the lights.

I'll probably use something like dish soap. It may take longer, but it'll have the same effect.
Or not, who knows. I need a freakin' oven first, the Microwave just won't do.

i think if you had the right accents around the car and dint overdue it this could be a good idea. get a set of bronze rims and if you have spare headights just try it out cause if you dont like it your kinda sol

Whoops, thought that bobsrex had bronze, sure looked like it from the pic.
| dbrier | 04-14-2004 08:48 AM |
I vote you give it a shot and post pictures of it. If it looks like crap, then paint over it black - which we know looks nice.
You don't have much to lose.

I'm gonna try it here in about two weeks. I did mine in black about 1 1/2years ago and they've held up great.
