uh...no.
Take it to where you wan't it to go. She backed into it, she shouldn't have any say where it goes.

I take my car to maaco when I have to pay and it's significantly cheaper than other body/paint shops. From my experience they try to get away with a quick shoddy job and see if it will pass--every time I've had to tell them to do it over and they do a better job the second time around. But if someone else were legally bound to pay, I'd take it to a more reputable shop.

Is her insurance paying for it? If so, why does it matter if its Maaco or not? But at any rate, I wouldn't take it to Maaco.

dam man! lol f**k maaco.. thanks alot for the info ^ :D

Yes, they are pretty much considered the lowest of the low when it comes to paintjob quality. I bet I could do a better job with one of those Wagner power sprayers.
| BUCKman_02 | 08-26-2006 08:15 PM |
please avoid maaco. I guess it would be a good place to go if you didn't like your car, but I have NEVER spoken to anyone who has liked thier work. I think you should contact your insurence company, get a list of recommended and approved service departments and then go to one of them, and if that dosent work then get a similer list from her company.
please man, don't go to maaco.

Macaco if you prepped it...
dealership or good body shop since she is paying for it.

I think Maaco is for cars people dont care about.
I worked with a guy who had a nice Maaco paint job, but he did all the prep work himself and they sprayed it. In your situation go with the best, an extra K or so would be worth it. Sorry to see your 06 get nailed, can you even open the door?

i took my old car to maaco for a whole new paint job.. crap quality, i also didnt buy the extreme package but from wut i could tell im glad i didnt cuz it woulda been a waiste.. it was orange peel crap and they fked up some of the interior in the car (crap to begin with so i didnt make a fuss). only reason i went there was cuz i didnt care about the car jus couldnt stand the original color.. also they didnt sand it down or nothin, they jus painted over the original paint job lol..
i would never take my wrx there... ever..

Maaco = no.
| 01G_WRX_02 | 08-26-2006 10:06 PM |
Maaco is in by 8 out by 5 kinda place they really only paint whole cars for cheap. I have seen at least 5 car that have had there work and they dont prep the cars at all, all they do is sand the car and paint it, not primes or anything. Im in the autobody industry I see lots of things by the looks of it they will replace the fender with a oem new one and oem dooskin, but if there structural damage to the inside of the door they will replace it.
Good luck, just ask around it anyone knows any good autobody shops in your area that do good work.

why would you do a thing like that? maaco sucks and there's no way around it. I saw a 2yr old maaco paint job (if you can call it that) where the clearcoat was....well....no longer there. I have a buttload of stories about maaco, none of them any good.
If you're gonna go there, why not let me, or other members take a whack at that paintjob first? No? Then don't go to maaco...
And tell your friend's sister "NICE ONE SISTA!!"
bergs, out

Are you kidding? Don't take your car anywhere near maaco. Unless you like the taxi cab look, where everything including the door handles and moldings are painted

Monkeys repeating monkey's.
The BN car was painted at Macco and it was near flawless. It depends on the macco, thats like saying.. taking your car to A paint shop is a bad idea because all paint shops are bad.

maaco was going to charge 1200$ for me, no prime or preparing it, just going over the coat for a fender and bumper, (my friend works at maaco tho, and he said if you ask to get it primed and such, they will do it. )
but ive also seen good things come out of maaco, and some bad.
good luck

i know what you mean man, when i wrecked my 05 i had to drive around my 03 protege for a month...WORST MONTH EVER! its hard going from a smooth riding turbocharged, awd car to a fwd, bumpy, rattley car. gas milage was awsome, but im willing to take the gas for a nice ass scoob.
i hope everything comes out ok man.
