18" is overkill, but I understand that some people want looks over performance. If they're light, it won't be too bad. It is nice that they're so wide; think at least 245s on there, 255-265s if they'll fit.

Them some big rims. I'm a fan of the 15'' look myself, but you know, to each their own.

Anything from SSR is going to be decent quality.....They've been around for forever (anyone remember the SSR Fins and Supermesh??). They also make the Competitions, which are quite popular with Suby owners. The wheels look great to me!

The wheels look great, but maybe you should get 17" if you can. 18" should be fine too. Go for it.
| Bishop | 11-24-2004 12:39 PM |
the biggest i'd go would be 17" too.

The color scheme is nice especially if it's going to be on a white car. If this is a daily driver I would go with a smaller size to save some of the ride quality. With 18" wheels you're going to have rubberbands for tires and your lower back will be taking all the abuse. Keep in mind, once you cross into 17"+ territory the tire prices are insane. Post a pic if you ever do get the wheels.

A little to busy in the center for me, but it'll look nice on a Aspen white. :)

just get the real deal of those wheels. volk gt-c.
| Blue Rabbit 02 | 11-24-2004 04:30 PM |
i like them alot. 18 is a thing i think... smaller sidewall equals less sidewall flex... just a thought. besides, on any 04 + body, 18s are a must to make them look big

yea i'm keeping my stock bbs's for the track so i'm not too worried about 18's, plus this isn't the first car i would have 18's on so i no that u gotta take it easy around rough streets. and yea i think 18's look right at home on wrx's
| PoopRSkupe | 11-24-2004 09:19 PM |
those look really nice. i would get 18's if i had a WRX STi. do it up and lets see some pics when you get them on.
| piker28 | 11-24-2004 10:04 PM |
just looking at that pic those seem really really heavy, but for that look you gotta sacrafice, make sure they can fit over the brembos
def make sure they are strong NY and potholes, dont even get me started

The Deeps look really good. They look good in gold also. SSR is great quality stuff, not a bad choice at all.

I've seen them fit on a stock ride-height '02... different fenders/fender liners between years? Perhaps just wider tires (Not all 245s are created equal, as I'm sure you know).

You know, people make such a big deal with 18" wheels. Understandable if they weigh a ton but if they are under 20lbs the difference is neglible. I have 18x8.5 wheels for the street and the car is no slower than with my stock 17's. Also the difference is even more neglible if you have 300+ ft/lbs of torque and HP. Smaller diameters makes more of a difference on cars with lesser power. Buy a quality wheel and it won't matter at all on the STi. Plus 18's fill out the car very nicely. Here's proof:

Thanks man. I'm running 235/40's and i had rubbing issues in the rear. If you want anything with that width or wider you're going to have to most definitely roll your fenders with your 04.
As for the price, give Anthony from www.mauromotorsports.com a ring and see what he can do for you. I'll tell you right now though they don't come cheap but you most definitely get what you pay for with volks. They look amazing in person and for a 18x8.5" wheel to weigh in at only 15lbs is worth every penny to me.
