wrexsta 12-30-2002 10:54 PM

What would look good with the STi version 1 front lip?
What sideskirts and rear underspoiler would look good with the STi version 1 front lip?
dorifto88 12-31-2002 12:26 AM

bump...no opinion here, just want to see what everyone else has to say;)
pitbul09 12-31-2002 06:49 AM

I have a version 2 lip with oe side skirts and no rear i think it look perfect and not over done.
kenchan 12-31-2002 10:42 AM

i use the v2 lip myself with factory sides (painted) and factory
rear valance, factory rear spoiler. looks good.

but your best bet is to lower your ride and get wheels first.
Need4Boost 12-31-2002 11:13 AM

The fact. painted side skirts and rear valence would look nice.

Sometimes the simplest looking cars are the best looking cars. :)
KIMUTAKU 12-31-2002 02:17 PM

i have Sti v1 front lip...i haven't paint my stock sides yet...

but i think painted stock sides is good enough...don't need any rear lip...:)

and definitely, lower the car and get some 17" rims...then it will look sick..;)
HongKongBeef 12-31-2002 02:51 PM

i think the STi lips (both versions) look WAY tite. i dont got 1.. cause i'd be scared to drive over pebbles in fear of scriping cause my car is lowered
kenchan 12-31-2002 03:20 PM

hkbeef- hahaha. :D its cool to have some scratches on lip
spoilers. minor cracked ones too, sometimes. cars, imo, look better with some scratches showing how hard it was driven.
pitbul09 12-31-2002 05:27 PM

I have to say with the version 2 and my car being lower man does it bottom out on every thing that has an incline, and if you look underneath there is no paint! but who cares u cant see it anyway. What do you guys think of this.. STi ver. 1 lip, OEM sideskirts and some type of rear underspoiler (don't know which kind yet) with a 1 inch drop in the front and a .75 inch drop in the back.
Raslian 01-03-2003 12:27 AM

If you've got the bills, do Tommy Kaira side diffusers, and rear. :D
wrexsta 01-03-2003 01:14 AM

Does anybody know how much ground clearance the STi ver.1 lip takes away? A couple inches?
mista618 01-03-2003 03:04 AM

i have the ver 1 matched up w/ painted skirts and the aero mudguards....they make the skirts match better with the lip
lawn boy 01-03-2003 01:32 PM

c-west sideskirts and rear lip w/ STi V7 spoiler.

pics yo!

i'm fighting with this decision now too.

i am going with the oem sides painted, but they almost seems to skinny, like they should be a couple inches deeper to mate up with the sti front (ver 1).

i think the c-west might look nice, but they are preety busy compared to the sti front, may not match well.

PICS!!! NEED SOME!!!
Spooled 01-11-2003 02:45 PM

My dream is to have an sti v.1 lip, griffin sideskirts, and a griffin rear.
atf78 01-11-2003 04:55 PM

I'm going with the STI V1 front lip (replica), OEM sides with strakes, and the OEM rear skirt.

Any vendors with websites that sell the GRIFFIN kit? Never seen it before. Would like to.

Do a search for user STR8OUT. His ride is nice IMHO.

enough for me to bump and scrape it on steep driveways with stock height... thats why i got rid of mine. it was tight when i owned one, but i've gotten sick of the look personally. i dont like either STi lip anymore... stock looks better to me now.:alien:

stock sides and stock rear is all you need for the STi lips, however.
wrexsta 01-14-2003 02:27 AM

So.. if I dropped the front of the car by 1" and also got the STi ver.1 lip, it would definitely scrape on my 30-35 degree uphill driveway?
WRXTACY 01-14-2003 03:03 AM

How to install it?
I recently bought the MAshaw sti ver 1 carbon fiber lip...It doesn't come with any bolts and like I was wondering how other people had put it on...Do you guys have to take it to the body shop?

thanks jesse
wrexsta 01-16-2003 01:08 AM

Does the STi ver.1 take away ground clearance as much as or more than the OEM front lip?
kenchan 01-16-2003 01:29 PM

much more, about 1inch less ground clearance. (no joke).
mattjk 03-01-2003 02:15 AM

I scraped my brand new lip tonight, twice!!! :( :( :(

It is way too low, even scraped going out sideways.
SQUAD_907 03-01-2003 05:58 AM

oem sides with strakes and rear....that's what i got with my v2 lip! :D
