Where can you get rear cupholders?
I know from an earlier posting that the Forester cupholders work, but the color doesn't match. I looking for an online vendor that carries them in the WRX charcoal interior color. Thanks.

I have yet to find a place in the US that carries them. I found them thru the dealerships in Canada. But it's like $100 + shipping and prolly duty.

Thanks for the info. Do you know of a place that has an on-line store where I can order it? I realize that it would be outside the country, but that shouldn't be a problem. I've ordered parts for other cars from Germany and the UK before. Generally it just increases the shipping rates and VISA or MASTERCARD will do the currency exchange for you.

Got mine from a UK dealer for a total of about $68 a year ago. I have the address at home and will post later.

H8YNERS is correct about the UK Subie accessories catalog offering a dual rear cup holder that matches the WRX interior. It attaches to the rear of the center console. Don't know about Canada.;)

Here's a pic of the cupholder open.

SubieGal, does 'light grey' mean matching WRX interior? Or slightly off forester color? And this is dual right?

UK Contact not valid?
H8YNERS,
I tried the web site and e-mail address you provided - neither worked.
How long ago did you contact this person in the U.K.? Looks like either their company is gone or their domain name has been sold/expired.
Do you know of any other sources for the rear cup holder?

My Apologies!
H8YNERS,
My mistake. The URL is actually:
www.quenby.uk.com
and I found Nick's e-mail...

I've sent him an e-mail. Hope to hear from him soon.
Thanks for the lead. Sorry for the alarm - just anxious to get this part. :D

There was a thread, where they placed a Forester cup holder in a GDA and it fit perfectly with no modding. The only down fall is that it's light gray. You'd have to paint it to match your interior.
| Chris Jones | 10-27-2002 02:12 AM |
I think the the Outback will work to? it's a much nicer one than the Forester. I will try it out at my Dealership. Am selling my UK Rear Cup Holder (Dual)
| Mud Pig | 10-27-2002 02:46 PM |
Why are you selling your UK rear cup holders? Is there a problem with them or are the outback one's that much better?
| Chris Jones | 10-28-2002 03:16 AM |
I think the Outback or the Forester look much cleaner. I will getting those painted to match the inside color of the car. We have an company that paints the inside of cars at our work:D . It will be the factory color and fit.
| Mud Pig | 10-28-2002 09:53 AM |
Post some pics when your finished. How much do your want for your UK cupholders? I am definitely interested if there in good conditon.

Are your current UK rear cupholders for the WRX still available?
| WRXWagon2112 | 11-08-2002 01:33 PM |
I Got It!
No, his cup holder is no longer available ...
Because I got it! :D
Thanks, again Chris. It looks great and is a perfect fit for the center console opening.
Since I sometimes pick up dinner for the roommates from <insert favorite fast food joint here>, I sometimes need to balance two drinks between my legs - the other two drinks occupied the the existing cup holders.
Although the UK cup holders are not very big, there are large enough to hold cans and regular size fountain drinks. Of course, that's all I really need ... I've never been one to get the Big Gulps.
Thanks, again!

WRXWagon2112, can you post a pic of the cup holder folded up or describe it. Does it close all the way and looks like the console before the installation of the cupholder?
| WRXWagon2112 | 11-09-2002 07:53 AM |
Folded
I'll try to get a pic for you, but I can tell you right now that it doesn't fold into the console. The unit is screwed into a bracket which is, in turn, screwed into the removeable panel.
So, even when it is closed, the unit hangs outside of the center console. Not the cleanest of designs, but I'm quite happy with it.

| Chris Jones | 11-13-2002 03:33 AM |
Yes,
We have a guy at MAITA SUBARU who does all of our Interior Restoration in cars at our dealership. He did mine. It's Sweet. Perfect match. My wife didn't even know there was a Rear Cup Holder there.:D . I bought the Forester Rear Cup Holder. Dead fit.
