sorry, was uploading it, up now

Can't see the pic. Do you need a new door or to get yours fixed. A new bare door shell is about $450 from the dealer if I recall correctly.
| emnm79 | 12-17-2004 03:56 PM |
450, not too bad, how hard of a fix is it? my friend has a shop so labor is free
looks like no accessport for me...

It's pretty easy. Have it painted, unbolt everything from the old door, run the wires through the new door, connect the door, reinstall everything and you're done. Well, it's not that simple, but close enough.

| kennyvb | 12-17-2004 04:21 PM |

well, it starts out with me being a ****ing idiot speeding, im going around a left hand, and i see a deer off the side of the road (didnt hit it), and panic, i got so scared and messed up i steered to far in and got sideways, then because of nothing but trees on my left side, i over corrected to turn straight and ended up going right WAY too far, off the right side of the road and hit a plastic thinghy and skidded to a stop
i got so scared and messed up, even though i didnt hit hard, just obliterated this box, i dont even remember what i was doing, i dont think i was even on the brakes, just some sucktastic driving trying to correct it and keep going...
thanks for the link, its $300 from there, but they dont have 2005 impreza listed, but im positive the 04 is the same even for a wagon...
and what are the dates for? they have two sets, one says like "to 2/23/03" and the other says "from 3/1/03" what is the difference here?

Unfortunately the doors are different for the wagon. The wagon doesn't have fender flairs like the sedan.
edit: Nevermind. Wagon for wagon, the doors are the same for both model years.

that's always a possibility if he can find one that has late model subarus...even subarus for the matter. ebay might be another source.

Junkyards around me want $400-$450 for one complete L door. So around that give or take for location and how many they actually have. Yards tend to charge more for Suby parts since you can't ever find them. But, you may not have to paint which is huge.

hmm, i couldnt find any yards w/ late model subys around here, would it be possible to have one shipped from a yard or do most of them not do that kind of thing? and again does anyone know a rough figure for shipping? 1st subaruparts doesnt list it until it ships, and i dont want to pay 150 for shipping and end up paying more for something i could have driven to the dealer and got... thanks

the rear door is cake !! (well, compared to the front).
power window assembly is not as difficult as the front doors. everything is pretty much self explanatory once you crack everything open. you can use all your old bolts and what not (that is, if you dont strip anything like i did)
you will need a new plastic 'wrap' which goes over the inside of the door after all teh wiring is in place. once again, you will see what i am talking about once you open it up... i think its about 15 bux from subaruparts.
goodluck

do you know what part # or name of the plastic wrap?
| dorifto88 | 12-20-2004 03:34 PM |
subaruparts.com, and search for it under impreza parts lookup
btw- i have a pair of doors from the drivers side that need repainting pretty bad.
its just the bare shell though, interested?

almost ready to order this stuff, is there anything else i would need for an 05 wrx wagon other than the door shell? windows/locks/etc all work, just a huge ass dent in the outside of it
also, is black paint hard to match? (should i bother to find a really good paint shop, local place is ok, but i want it to match up really good of course)
