07 STi Harnesses - AutoX

Gearing up for Autocross season!
Im running an 07 STi this year, and I'm definitely going to buy a harness finally.
Although I made a visit to Soloracer.com, and the Schroth Rallye 4 Quick Fit harness suposedly doesn't fit on 06+ STi's, it even says so on their website.
Therefore, anyone know of any good "quick fit" harnesses that will fit the 06/07 STi well? Thanks!

I have the rallye 4 non quick fit in my DD 06. They don't quick detach, but the front and back portions do detach for back seat usage. I use mine everyday though, so I just leave them in.

Probably because the stock seats are horrible and if you take a corner at anything close to a fun pace you're sliding all over the place.

That's wierd that the harnesses don't fit the later STis...perhaps just get a CG Lock until they make the new ones?
Also, so you know, if you are more than about 5'8", I would not reccommend those. I'm 5'6", and with the seat in the highest position, the angle will press on my shoulders a bit causing a 'spine compression' effect. Running them over top a harness bar (while very unlikely to pass a track-day inspection, but prolly still as safe) would prolly give them a 'best of both worlds' fit.

I heard that Subaru changed the seat belt recepticals on the 2006+ cars and since the Schroths clip into those, it no longer works. The regular Rallye 4 would still work, but its just going to be permanently bolted in. Thats the one I have in my RS. CG-Lock might also be a good option.

Acejam2k,
Have you thought about the Rallye-3?
http://www.soloracer.com/rallye3.html
I have a set, and for autox, they work quite well and aren't hard to install. Is the Rallye-4 that much better for autox use? I realize that the 3 is probably not legal for road-course use (guessing this b/c I have no familiarity with such things as I only autox).

Enjukuracing.com Takata harnesses for 350 or so. I have them and wouldnt have it anyother way.

I run these Sabelt harnesses in the M3. These are the same ones that they run in WRC.
These are not quick fits but still pretty easy to install.

Because ;)
I like them, always wanted a car with/worthy of 4pt harnesses, and I take corners fast on a daily basis.

Besides the Takatas, what other harnesses have you tried?
At twice the price of a nice Schroth they'd better give me a BJ while I'm in grid.

Why don't you get a proper seat, instead. Harnesses are not intended to stop you from sliding around. Seats are.

rules and/or cost. And I'm quite sure the harnesses being discussed are very much intended to keep you from sliding around in a stock seat ;)

Because seats are expensive.
In addition, my car is still street driven and I like the idea of having side impact airbags.

Um, harnesses make a huge difference for autocrossing. Without them you are all over the place in the car and using your legs and arms to fight G Forces. Harnesses really do hold you in.

How about the Schroth Profi-II FE. I know they are a bit more expensive but I would have to imagine they would work in the '07 because its simply adding into your stock rear bottom seat belt mounts and eye bolts into the stock front seat belt bases. I have them installed in my car and love them. If you want some pictures or some more information... let me know.

Scroll down a bit for the 4-point.

In the Stock Auto-X classes you can run a harness. A seat bumps you up.
I run a Simpson cam lock 6 point.

they may not be designed for it, but they do a damn good job of keeping you planted in AutoX.

Still looking for a harness! I just called HMS Motorsport (THE distributor for Schroth) and they don't know when the 07 version will be available. Anyone know of any Prodrive harness or Sparco ones that remove quickly/are quick fit ones?
| allmotorking | 04-03-2007 08:09 PM |
the sparco and pro drive ones are made by sabelt but i don't think there are any quick fit ones.

Anyone have any experience with these?
http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/sparco-4point-competition-harness-p-3143.html
They look good to me, because once you bolt in the eye-bolts, you can "clip in" the ends, allowing it to come out easily. This is what im looking for, and pretty decent price too. Also, these eye-bolts are mount with/next to the rear seatbelt clips, correct?

From what I understand only the front Seatbelt Receptacles changed... not the rear. Just go to a Junk Yard and pull off a Front Seatbelt receptacle of a 05 or 04 and bolt it with the other receptacle. (One bolt going through the bottom mounting point of 2 recepticals at the same time)
The end state would be you would have two recepticals... one to use with your stock three point belt and one to use when you use your 4 point belt.
I just use the old..slide the seat back, tighten belt, yank it down hard to lock it, & silde the seat back up... trick.

Given that the buckle changed with the 06's in Oct 05 and they still don't have a fix for it, don't hold your breath
I just sold my Scroth since with MY02 getting written off and replaced with an MY07 it don't work and went down the same search
As for the dual buckle idea - doesn't exactly thrill me with the idea of screwing around with the normal seatbelt that much - too likely to compromise it's strength

Im not sure if im getting a passenger one yet, but for that price its pretty cheap! lol
Anyone know if I can put eye-bolt attachments/clips onto the end of the Schroth and then use eye-bolts to clip it in? Similar to that Sparco one i posted earlier.

Schroth Rallye 4 all the way, dont get the 3 point in my experience they pull on your shoulders unevenly. I have a Rallye4 in my RS and its awesome.

That's correct. The seat belt recepticals are a little narrower. It seems like a silly thing to change, but they gone and dun' it.
