thanks everyone. i totaly forgot about the wing comparison on North Ursalia's site. i took a look at it and i think i want a prodrive style wing, although i hate how every wing for the impreza looks a little too high, im going to see if my bodyshop can cut it down and remold it to make it a little shorter. does anyone know who makes a replica?

thanks,
Nate

i totaly forgot about the bomex wing! its one of the best wings out there i might go for that instead.

about the 22b wing.....is it wider than other wings for the GC8? thats what i was told but every time a see one width doesnt look like an issue. and is the "RB5" and prodrive wing the same thing? if not what are the differences?

i wish someone would make a prodrive style wing with and adjustable center piece thats carbon, but i doubt anyone has the resources.

thanks agian,
Nate
Andrew 04-11-2002 01:03 AM

IMHO, DONT get an adjustable spoiler. lets face it, you arent going to be adjusting it. you are not going to be going fast enough for it to have any real effect. and when you start playing with it, the metal pieces that allow you to adjust it will get screwed up and will get ugly. i used to have a 22b adjustable spoiler and i would never recommend someone buying the same thing. just my opinion and my experiences.
NateDogg 04-11-2002 01:07 AM

i only want an adjustable wing so i can leave it in in the "maximum downforce" setting and then ill leave it alone, i also like the carbon it will go well with the hood and mirrors im thinking about. just an idea. but thanks for the input

RB5 replica

www.afsmotorsports.com
dRu888 04-11-2002 02:28 PM

personally, i like the 22b wing the best. Not only is it taller then the rb5 and V5, but it's adjustable! That HAS to add some horsepower.. Only problem is that nobody creates a replica with a LED brake light AND carbon fiber insert anymore. when i get enough money ill probably just the get the one with a LED brake light at MRT . ...however, if u had enough money u cOULD buy the real one there.... :D
dRu888 04-11-2002 02:40 PM

Also, rb5 and "the prodrive wing" r interchangable, but wat would u rather type??? =)
And, it's impossible for people to create an adjustable rb5 wing not because of the resource issue, but the fact that the LED light in on the top. Think about it, if u adjusted it down or up the LED light would either be facing the ground or sky...it would look retarded. Thats y that modified 22b spoiler w/ the LED on top that I posted up there ^ (made by dutch555) isn't adjustable anymore. ;)
edkwon 04-11-2002 03:37 PM

Another replica RB5/Prodrive wing from afsmotorsports like mentioned before:

Main difference between this and the genuine product is price, different material and lack of the 'PRODRIVE" inscription on either side of the wing, which IMHO, looks better.

Thanks mike, all we did with was scuff up the all the parts i wanted to paint, then prime, then paint.

I worked with a friend at a bodyshop, we mixed up some paint, said "close enough" and then shot it on some pieces.

everyone asks, "what kinda paint did you use?" I respond with, "PPG", they look like

glad you liked it :D with any luck, the cars gonna go under all kinds of cosmetic work by the end of the year.
