$5 mudflaps

10$ total + nuts and bolts for all 4 mudflaps, thank you very much WalMart.

Front fits perfect. Back flaps protect the whole area and cover the whole wheel. Yet, after 2 installs I cannot get them straight. This is because of the way the bumper is shaped. I guess I'm not getting the holes right. But, as long as they do their job and cost me only $10, I am a happy camper.

Nice job. The only thing I see is the rears look way too narrow.

Actually, the pics make it seem kinda narrow. That's because of my install job...
They are the same width as the front ones.
I tried to get them to stick out more and protect the sides better but it didn't work.
I might look around for larger ones, or buy the $7 flaps designed for trucks and just cut them the shape I want.

lol, yea you have to get the $7 ones not the $5 ones. Sorta like how you have to go to the $2 store to get the better stuff.

Maybe its because the people who usually buy it have 13 inch wheels like these:

yeah, IMO they look like $5 mudflaps :I

I would use mudflaps but my tires stick out 2" past the side and rear skirt so it really wouldn't do me any good. Don't worry I don't have mexi look they tuck in the fenders, the fenders are just wider... :D

There is no way I was going to pay $100 for rally armor mudflaps.
I am not going offroading or gravel driving. I just wanted some mudflaps to protect my paint, especially on my newly installed sideskirts. So far they are doing their job. They are full of dust and are dirty, yet the car is clean.
They are also pretty solid. Solid enough if I do drive through a road under construction and gravel starts flying, there will not be a problem. I still might try reinstalling another pair in the back for the "look".
They actually look pretty decent in person and the rear ones are barely noticeable.

Nice job, I might have to do this myself. I also agree though that 50 dollars and up for 4 pieces of plastic is just silly. Plus they don't even look very good, not like the actual Subaru ones do, in my opinion of course.

This weekend I will try installing larger mudflaps in the rear, or making the look more even.
We'll see.
Nothing wrong with the front ones... so I won't touch those.

3 options:
no mudflaps
skinny mudflaps
$100 for rally armor.
I like choice #2.
Max I'd ever pay for mudflaps would be $50. And that is including shipping.
On the other hand, if I went rallying, THEN I could justify paying for rally armors. But driving around the city, and on the highway... no.

get the Sparco flaps from Rallylights.com they fit great and cover more area than the rallyarmor flaps, and they are something like $20 per pair.

I can ship you some if you want.
They are 5$ canadian a pair.
Probably 3-4$ shipping.
That would make it about 15$ US shipped for 4 of them.

Isn't a mudflat what you get when the tide goes out?
I'm going to fabricate some too, I think you did a fine job, but I think I want to make mine a little larger/wider to give even more protection.

That's what I'll be working on this weekend.
I'll update this thread with pictures.

I went to 2 super walmarts and 1 big kmart, none of them had mudflaps. I did go to advanced autoparts and found some SUV/VAN flaps that weren't all that big for $3.97. I haven't tried putting them on yet or seeing how much I'll need to cutt off, but I'll post pics when I do.

BTW, what size nuts/bolts did you use?
