No note or anything... NICE! Guess I was lucky (?) cause it could have easily been both doors. No problems opening or closing the door, no noises at speed, so it appears just the outer skin is damaged, but I have a feeling this one won't "pop out"...
Anybody wanna guesstimate what I'm looking at for repair costs?
I'm taking it in for a few estimates tomorrow, too pi$$ed off today

That blows, man. I had my windshield crack and some dumbass (I think it was my neighbor in my complex) ding my fender. Some people need to have their fingernails ripped off and dosed in alcohol. Bastards....
| pornstar1969 | 04-27-2006 05:09 PM |
The unfortunate part is that most shops will probably paint the rear door and fender to blend the color in.
| 06AWD | 04-27-2006 05:09 PM |
several hundred $$$ at least. they will prob pop it out and repaint it. had a similar thing happen to my 06. small ding in the front right fender, and the always fun, license plate indent, on the back bumper... just over 7400K miles...
do you really expect people to look before they swing the door to their buick wide open? get used to it...

It looks like you were side swipped when they were backing out...
Sorry to hear man.

what fcuktards. I had one of those once...I was watching tv in my apt and my alarm goes off so I run out only to see my dumbass neighbor driving away after backing into my car. What the heck was she thinking??
| alltracin | 04-27-2006 05:46 PM |
I had my old Eclipse backed into twice (also silver). Both times it was ~$1000. Sorry man :( I know how you feel.
| Tx1021 | 04-27-2006 05:47 PM |
Sorry to see that. Best of luck getting it fixed.
| wrxnavigation | 04-27-2006 05:47 PM |
My girlfriends legacy had almost that exact same damage on her OBP legacy. There was a molding dtrip there too. But the bill came to over 1K once they were done. Sorry to see that. Especially on such a clean new car.

I had a similiar dent on my 06 it cost me $650 to get the dent removed and repainted. They have to pant both doors because there is not enough room to blend the paint just on the one door. Don't settle for your first quote. I went to 10 different places and at the last place I just told the guy that I was quoted at another place for $650 and he matched the price for me.
| Tokudai | 04-27-2006 06:45 PM |
:( yeah I figured probably be close to $1k... I wasn't parked next to anyone, I always go towards the least full spot of the lots and up against a non-spot when possible.

VERY bogus man. Hope you'll get her fixed soon without too much money out of your own pocket...

i feel your pain, i just noticed a nice quarter size dent on my passenger side door, and they even left me some of their paint!
| veightkiller | 04-27-2006 11:45 PM |
that's big dent!sorry to see that men..
| darknightohio | 04-27-2006 11:49 PM |
It almost looks like buffing or wet sanding might get out the paint damage.
Did any paint come off the door?

I think people are just too oblivious to realize what they do.

Before you hit a body shop..look around for a paintless dent remover in your area. Any good shop will have before and after pictures vehicles they fixed. Look close at the dark colored cars. That's a tell-tale sign of how good they are. I could save you a few hundred bucks and not have to have it repainted.
just my $.02

My rear door got hit like that when the women ran a stop sign. It could have been a lot worse but she also hit my rim so that took a good amount of the impact.
It costs $1300 w/o replacing the door.

Did any paint come off the door?[/QUOTE] ....yeah. As far as the finish is concerened, it only looks like "paint transfer". I've removed similar marks with a semi-aggressive polish and buffer. ....but it may be a moot point unless you can find a PDR (painteless dent removal) professional who can successfully massage the metal back into shape.

That dent is fairly large for PDR. I had a similar dent in my left front door and the cost was $860.00. You should not pay more than $900.00 or so.

Thanks for all the info everyone - you were dead on
Estimate 1 - $830
Estimate 2 - $1087
Must be the fumes in the body shops, these guys are SPUN! ;)
Both of these are for repairing the panel, repainting and blending into the doors/fender, and not replacing that panel... Seems a little high to me, the panel itself is only $300 if I buy it - $500 for painting and paintmatching one door? I am going to see a PDR guy later, but it seems my best bet is going to be buy the door shell, install it myself, and take it somewhere to get painted/colormatched.. I can't see putting a grand into it and not getting a new door, thats ridiculous
