Impreza22B 12-08-2000 05:32 PM

I know! I know! Hehe.

Try www.autoimaging.com Look under Razo or Carmate interior item. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif[/img] I think it's called gun shift knob. It's really cool but I don't know if that's the best price around.
sti2_5rs 12-08-2000 06:44 PM

That shift knob is so sweet man, i love it, but anyone know will it fit into the RS?? or is anyone have that knob in their car??

Anyway, thanx for the info 22B
Impreza22B 12-08-2000 07:10 PM

I don't know if it will fit either. I will check at a store called Speed Concept in Aloha, Portland. Don't know if they have 'em but they have lots of stuff from Japan. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif[/img]
Overtime 12-09-2000 01:11 PM

I'll give Auto Imaging a buzz regarding their shift knob...maybe Monday or Tuesday.
sti2_5rs 12-09-2000 09:47 PM

Bump!! anyone got any news on both STI and the Razo Gun Grip knob?? I personally like the Razo one better, but really need to know if they fit our cars or not!!!

Also, anyone know is there any web site for RAZO, like dealers or US distribitor??
Daios 01-12-2001 07:36 PM

My friend gave me a carbon fiber shifter. I tried it on and it won't work since the button is on the top [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif[/img] Took me a while to figure out how to take the dang stock shifter off. Well, heres what I found out: we would need a shift knob that can pull the lever UP so we can press the button to move the shifter around. So top buttons will not work for our car unless it can pull the thing up inside. If theres a side mounted button, that would work. Or what i did, the "ghetto" way, tape down the sensors and the thing that keeps the shifter unlocked and there u go. Only thing is u can accidently throw it on R or all the way to 1 when u didn't want to. Oh well.

TRi is running a GB on the STi shift knobs ...and Daios ...you're gonna have to send me instuctions on how you rigded yours to work.
bratmantlz 01-12-2001 10:15 PM

does anyone have one of these for sale cheap? the first auto shift knob looked nice [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif[/img]
ivbdn 01-13-2001 02:35 AM

Anybody find out if the one featured at the very top fits our cars?
sti2_5rs 01-13-2001 10:35 AM

Ya!! that's why i bring it up again!!! I tried several times emailing nopi, and other shops that sell RAZO knobs, NO Respones!!!

I really like that, but need to know will they fit, since i tried the Razo AT for Honda, which don't fit.
bratmantlz 01-13-2001 02:33 PM

alrighty sti2_5rs if they do fit and are priced right let us know. that is outstanding looking [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif[/img] i wanted it when i first saw it posted.
sti2_5rs 01-13-2001 05:21 PM

For sure i will let all AT owner know, I kinda don't like the STI knob. I think it looks like some trucks or van's knobs.
CM 01-13-2001 05:27 PM

I'm pretty sure the STi won't fit. I think its only for the newer legacys.
sti2_5rs 01-13-2001 06:30 PM

no one clear this out, even TRI is doing a STI GB, but i think he still haven't clear things out!! Some said it works, some said NO!!!
Impreza22B 01-14-2001 03:16 AM

I sent email to someone at Auto Imaging and they replied back that the Razo Shift knob fits the Impreza.
Overtime 01-14-2001 10:06 AM

Sorry guys...I've been rather busy of late.

If you like I can set up a GB for this shift knob, but I will ask for confirmation that it fits first. I've heard it fits as well, but you never know until you start breaking things yourself... [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif[/img]

Just let me know whether there's serious interest. We already get 10% off everything at Auto Imaging, so this GB would probably include free shipping and maybe a little more.

Take it easy.
sti2_5rs 01-14-2001 10:10 AM

Hey Overtime, if you can do a GB on the Razo knob and confirmed it fits on our imprezas, then count me in!
bratmantlz 01-14-2001 10:20 AM

posted december 9th at 9:47pm ? that shifter right?? that one if the price was right i would be there too, i love the way it looks [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif[/img] hate the stock shifter its homely [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif[/img]
ivbdn 01-15-2001 02:50 AM

the spacecowboy 01-15-2001 04:07 AM

WRX Pilot 01-16-2001 02:26 AM

......but why?
Dre2932 01-16-2001 09:55 PM

I also know that Matrix also make shift knobs for automatics.. You may want to check them out.. They're pretty cheap too..
John2.5RS 01-16-2001 11:49 PM

You can remove the little motor-actuator thing that does the shift-lock. Maybe that will solve the problem with the top mounted button shifter.
Daios 01-17-2001 02:08 AM

I tried to disconnect that motor to lock the shifter, but it didn't work. It stayed locked. If u really want to rigg it so you don't use the button, then u gotta get some tape and other stuff. You can tape down the locking think that connects to the motor (its the thing that says in the manual to push down if you need to unlock the shifter) then you have to tape down a thiny switch (has a long metal thing that u can push down, this has to be down so it thinks its ok to take out the keys) then u have to tape the thing (i wish i knew the name of the stuff i'm talking about [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif[/img] ) that locks the shifter after you move from different gears. locks out the "R" and "2" when you are at "d" and so on. Anyways you have to pull it up and tape up the bottom part since it has less grease. You can find other ways maybe instead of my "tape" way, but mine works. No more button. Just have to make sure the button to lock the shifter is down (unlocked), the switch to take the keys out is down, and the lever in the middle of the shifter is up. Put your new shifter and your done. Just be careful since you can acidently throw the shifter in a gear you don't want. enjoy. *also I'm not responsible for what u do to your car [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif[/img]*

Overtime 01-21-2001 08:11 PM

Sorry guys...been busy, and my Impreza is not legally drivable (no muffler.) Hopefully I'll have my Borla combination in by later this week.

I also have several other problems which have nothing to do with my car and really aren't that bad in the scheme of things, but what can you do? Sometimes you get caught up in stupid, uh, things.

I'll give Auto Imaging and Shawn a call sometime this week. If I don't post anything by Wednesday, keep bumping.
sti2_5rs 01-22-2001 01:37 PM
