Any karters out there?

Hey all, I was curious to see how many other karters are here on NASIOC.
If so, are any of you racing stars, IKF, or ProKart this season?

I use to race IKF at albany saratoga speedway when they had the go cart track from when I was 7 till about 15yrs old. I ran a 98 coyote oval rocket offset and a blueprinted 5hp that made about 12.2 at the crank at 6800. It was a good time I wish they never tore that track down. I was points champ a bunch of years and ran every class from box stock to lights pro. Once a year we raced on the big track for the norteast nationals and I won that when I was 14 out of maybe 300 carts in my class. sorry for the size of the pics. those are 12 inch wide 2 piece rims to by the way.

[emailprotected] is getting back into karting.
Myles over at RCE has a kid who has been karting for a while. Knowing how Myles works, and from reading some of his posts about his kid's progress I can easily bet that he drives better than a majority of people out there.

I run a 125 CRG shifter every now and again, and some TAG in with an EZ.

Talk to your local kart shops. NEVER buy a kart off of the internet! Buy a kart through the shop so that you have someone to hold liable if the kart is not up to the condition that it should be. Good racers change their karts every season, actuaily sooner for that matter, becasue the frames wear out from all the flexing (This is for the very serious racers, were talking 10ths of seconds here). I would suguest that you find someone that is getting a new kart and wanting to sell their sligtly used (1 season) one. How old is your son? What class would he be racing in?

He turns 12 in a few days. FJ4 I think is the class. Need a Cadet chassis and a stock KT100 motor. Don't want to go too crazy, want to spend no more than $2000, but don't know exactly what I'm doing when buying a kart.

Started karting when I was 8 and have ran various classes and series. Haven't karted in a good while but last series I was running was SKUSA. Ran S1, Rotax Max and ICC.
| SonicWRX | 01-29-2007 10:34 AM |
I ran a CRG Heron with a KT100 last season with OVKA. Raced at Newcastle, Centerville and Camden. I sold everything lock, stock and barrel a couple of months ago as I just don't have the time to campaign it seriously. Race days were 16 hours on average for 30 minutes of racing. It's LOTS of of fun though.

I am an enduro kart racer. I run with the Woodbridge Kart Club and World Karting Association. I have a "laydown" Coyote chassis with Kt-100. The WKC runs tracks such as Summit Point Main/Shenandoah and VIR.

Actually the guys running the unlimited karts are nuts. They run SP Main in the 1:14's with 1:13.5 being the kart record. I only run in the 1:34's.
