bling bling, new mirrors
well, I picked some new side views for the car. They are carbon pods with a blacked out base. Fun and different

I have a spare set in silver too :)

Could you get some more pics, such as closer for detail and farther to see them with the whole car? :)
j.reed 11-22-2003 10:42 PM

I'm not a fan at all... you doing this for style or is there some benefit to them?

less drag resistance and weight reduction...I assume!
CrazyMike13 11-23-2003 12:58 AM

Yeah, that may be the case and all, but they are VERY ugly and VERY cheap looking. Looks like something off of a 1970's pickup or something.
AllSeven 11-23-2003 01:18 AM

i don't mind them but the ganadors are soo minty
SDscooby 11-23-2003 03:35 AM

Not too bad, I'm having trouble developing an opinion on those mirrors, I think I need to see them in person.
SubaruRules 11-23-2003 03:44 AM

I want more photos of your wagon!

I like those mirrors:banana:
Subie2.5RS2003 11-23-2003 04:22 AM

Uncle Scotty 11-23-2003 05:28 AM

Sorry, but on this one ya missed tha boat....
digidelia 11-23-2003 05:58 AM

did i see your car at the SEMA meet in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago?
jason2004STI 11-23-2003 08:13 AM

I have to agree to disagree... I'm with the majority concensus, sorry but I'm not feelin' those mirrors. Just my opinion, more power to ya if you like it work it.

Jason

I love my STi :)
imprezzed 11-23-2003 08:45 AM

My dad has them on his celica gts. I like them because they are different, but I find that everyone he knows either instantly likes them or hates them.

Damn those are tiny.

Let me pinpoint something that might be of controversy but some can't put a finger on it: the base doesn't look like it belongs on the car. I've been waiting for someone to paint their base and see how it is, but the position for mirrors like those is usually directly on the door, instead of up in the window part.

I think if you had that gap between the base and the door molded, it might look worlds better, and the paint at the angle that you took the pictures at doesn't really match very well.

Nice and different though
Plasteredcat 11-23-2003 04:10 PM

ugly ...........
NC2.5RS 11-23-2003 04:27 PM

I like em. I think they look really good.
modvp 11-23-2003 04:37 PM

Looks different. I assume they are not electrically adjusted like the stock unit.
4wheelflyer 11-23-2003 04:44 PM

hmmm well I cant really say I like them , they seem just too out of place and do not flow with any part of the car. but on the other hand they must be really light, hows the view?, well its your car so you have to do what makes you happy , did you consider the WRC style mirrors?
IA Performance 11-23-2003 05:12 PM

wow, those are some reactions :) I didn't think I would like them either until I put them on the car. It is one of those things that you have to see in person, instant love or instant hate. The base fits very well against the car, although my pictures do not depict it well. They are modeled teh same as the stock bases that our mirrors use.

THe silver ones are actually not painted silver but rather metal with clear coat. THey are pretty close for being that IMO.

THe view takes 2-3 times to get fully used to. The mirrors are smaller but your spectrum is actually wider since they use a slight convex or something to the mirrors.

The reason for doing them was something different that didn't cost a mint. I just finished a full race motor and JDM drivetrain conversion on the car and these are dirt cheap compared to that :) I'll try to snap some more full car shots with them on.

They are not electric.
SubaruRules 11-23-2003 06:10 PM

Can I see some more photos of your car?? I asked above:(
IA Performance 11-23-2003 09:27 PM

No current pictures. Sorry. This is about as current as I have though.

Since that shoot I added full STI gold brembos and the mirrors. The drivetrain is where the major make over occured.
NimrodBoz 11-24-2003 12:52 AM

doesnt seem worth it to loose the eletric mirror option....why? because im a lazy american thats why! :D
i like the sotck mirrors most...especially on the old imprezas like mine where the base matches the color of the mirror
artdoesart 11-24-2003 12:57 AM

They look like C-West knock offs, tight Jap stuff, but well not my taste... Stock looks better in my opinion.
WeRX-503 11-24-2003 01:05 AM

those look like the spoon side mirrors for honda/acura. they look really nice upclose. my friends brother has them on his rsx type s. looks really clean.
beobe99 11-24-2003 04:14 AM
