Can a lip be added to the 22B bumper?
Hey everyone,
I have a few questions about weather a lip can be fitted to the 22B bumper (which Im finally able to get).
So are there any lips that can fit the 22b bumper? Are they the same lips that are fitted to the US bumper?
Do you guys think that if I get the 22B bumper and there are lips that can go on it I should even put one on?
The 22b bumper is the same price as the US bumper through my dealership by the way. Thsi si just an idea im tossing around for now (i hate the canadian bumper, but dont we all). Any info would be great! Thanks in advance...:)

Hi Dan the 22B has a very fragile bumper ( no support on jap Spec )and is not supported on the lower edge.It already is an accident waiting to happen when it comes near a bumper stop in a parking lot. I know this from experience #$&*

Dan is your question in regards to a 22B bumper on a 22B or an STi Sport 22B lookalike bumper attached to your RS?
The authentic 22B bumper AFAIK will only work with the 22B flared fenders.

hey Dan,
very curious as to where you are getting this bumper from and exactly how much is it?
I would love to get one of those through my dealer for the same price as a stock bumper.
Thanks
BIlly........needs new bumper paint due to Pine Barrens sand.........

Hey guys, im pretty sure this is a look alike because I obviously dont have flared fenders. Im getting it through a friend of mine at the dealer, im not sure exactly where, but ill ask for you guys.
It still needs a re-bar, so i will probably get the jdm re bar. I will find out info for you guys as soon as I can!
Gooseman:Its waemer everyday and i have my 17's sitting in my garage waiting to be put on......I wuill be at the julep the first possible day. You will be able to try my car out when we meet! You know, i dont even like juleps!
Thanks for the replys, i guess a lip is not able to be attached to the bumper, but it probably dosent need one huh?
Thanks for these great replys!

I have a replica 22b bumber on my OBS. I ordered a lip before that was supposed to fit the 22b bumber and the ver 4 bumper, but due to the flaring of the replica bumper there was NO WAY it was going to fit.
I've been told since that any lip would have to be modified to fit the 22b bumper, I agree as well, it has a slightly flared side and bottom to it that does match the other subie bumpers.

Yeah, the 22b bumper will look GREAT on your car for sure, sans lip spoiler! DigitalRonin, you have a 22b bumper on a wagon? I HAVE to see that! PICS!!! PICS!!!!
Dan, even without the lips spoiler, just having a SICKASS 22b bumper on a black RS will look SICK, and you'll make me one JEALOUS mofo!!! I didnt know that there was a real non-22b 22b bumper?? (what did I just say?  ).....I thought there was only the REAL thing for the flared fenders and a fiberglass replica.....whats this one made of? Urethane plastic liek the original?
And PLEASE stop tempting me to spend more money on my car!!! :monkey: :p

I will look into the bumper for sure now, Cardin555, ill see you in a week!
GOOSEMAN,
Im boring out a used set of 2.5 heads in a week or two and sending stock cams for agressive grinding in california. If I like the new setup, i will sell you my cobb cams at a VERY good price, but it will be in a while, it take a few weeks for the cams to get sent, ground and sent back, my brother and I will install the heads and cams in a weekend, then you will have to try my car again! Thanks for the replies everyone!

ok a lil late on the reply, but i dont think they even sell a lip that would fit that bumper. And yes i agree that any existing lip would have to be heavily moded to fit the bumper.
yes, the bumper looks amazing by itself.
ANd let me know on the info when you get it. I may want one aswell.
And i would like to come up there in the summer to hang and meet you guys.

I thought Sti actually made an official 22B style bumper made to fit the normal width GC8s like this:

I believe it is an actual STI part designed for the gc8 and gf8 body style.
You can see it at www.challengerdeep.com
and on the official STI site.(hence why i believe it to be original and made of poly-urethene.)

Hey, that's my car!
That's actually a replica, I used the stock Canadian rebar and just cut the lower half of it off.. true, there is no beam on the bottom, but the bottom is supported by brackets that are bolted to the frame..
It's actually a pretty tough bumper, for a fiberglass replica.. I got chips in it, but it never spiderwebbed or got bent out of shape.. But now it's on someone elses car in Ottawa,.. so you won't be the only person up there abouts with one :)

Hi guys,
I'm dcoty's brother, he doesn't know it but I'm fixing his car up while he is away so it will be as good as new when he gets back. I will be at Julep on April 4th as well in my 400+hp Audi, I will just be coming back from a dyno weekend in Boston with Shiv. I picked the heads up the heads for his car today, one is from a '99 forester and one is from a '00 forester. The '00 forester head is in perfect condition, it probably has less than 10,000km on it it has the valve cover, but no cam gear. The other one looks a little worse but is still in reasonably good shape, it sat in inventory for over a year it includes the cam gear but no valve cover. I should have them stripped by the end of the weekend. Here are couple of pictures of the heads for anyone interested

It's a blue '94 Audi 90. It's got a RS2 bumper cover with a large intercooler in it. I have a custom single turbo V6 with a TEC-II and a fully built engine. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture

Anyways, the car is fixed! I just have to get a new face plate for the headunit, or replace the head unit because I have an amazing deal on a new Alpine one.
BTW, I don't go to julep for the julep's I think they are the nastiest thing ever, but if you like them, drink one for me, OK?
Cardin555, I am not to familiar with the bumper you are getting for dan's car but it is poly and not fiberglass right? Fiberglass sucks when you have to deal with the typical Westmount drivers. Also wondering if you have local source for RS aftermarket brake pads. Maybe you should PM me.
