Yeah....
Not my best choice of words, I'm going to blame the now ever present smell of gear oil in the hotel room and the 4 hours of sleep in the last 40 that proceeded that comment....

Still not sure if I like the almost all black with the little bit of blue...

Ken Block Expands His 2007 Rally Program with Monster Energy
(February 23, 2007) Subaru Rally Team USA driver and 2006 Rally
America National Championship runner-up Ken Block announced today an
expansion to his 2007 rally program that will see him contest five
International events in addition to contesting the full 2007 Rally
America National Championship. Block's confirmed International rounds
include Word Rally Championship events in Mexico and New Zealand plus
three rounds in the New Zealand Rally Championship. Block's expanded
program is made possible in part by increased support from sponsor
Monster Energy Drink and continued support from Subaru of America,
Inc.
Block's 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car, run by Subaru Rally
Team USA, will debut a new, black color scheme of Monster Energy Drink
at this weekend's Missouri based 100 Acre Wood Rally, Round 2 of the
2007 Rally America National Championship. Block enters the Rally in
the 100 Acre Wood event as favorite to win having taken victory on the
event, the first rally win of his career, in 2006.
At the Corona Rally Mexico (March 9-11), a round of the World Rally
Championship, Block will compete in a the Group N class alongside
Travis Pastrana, his Subaru Rally Team USA teammate. "Monster has
really stepped up their support of my efforts and are fully behind
what I'm doing in rally. Their help will further advance my rally
career in 2007," says Block.
Block will also be heading to other side of the world, to New Zealand,
where he will drive a Group N Subaru with Sam Murray's RallyfaNZ team
in four rounds of the New Zealand Rally Championship, including WRC
New Zealand. The New Zealand program is made possible through
sponsorship from Fram.
Block will continue to work alongside his veteran co-driver Alex Gelsomino.
Block's newly launched website, www.ken-block.com will feature
exclusive news, videos and photos of his expanded 2007 rally program
including event schedules.

Way to represent the Subies Ken!
Any ideas of any other ways which you'll be pushing Subaru or monster?

Thanks to everyone for the congrats.
Beside the last stage where we simply managed our lead, the rest of our weekend was basically flat out all the way.
Our STi didn't miss a beat, and handled like she was on rails..
Great little cars they are indeed.

PS: ..and yes, we are really looking forward to represent USA in Mexico and in the New Zealand Rally championship!!

New ideas? Well yes, several things in the works....but, I can't give out much of that info right now.
But, there is one thing I can detail; there's a nice congrats ad (2 page spread) from Monster for me that will be out in 7 motorsports magazines (Subie Sport, C16, Racer, Sport Compact Car, Modified, Import Tuner) soon. The ad is a great representation of rally and features some of the photos from the 2006 season, plus the Stunt Junkies jump.
I really appreciate Monster spending the time and money to support me, rally and the team. They have been a great sponsor, and I truly appreciate them doing their part to promote the team and the sport.

KBlock, good job and keep up the positive image. You are the kind of poster child/supporter/enthusiast/competitor that rally in America needs. The Stunt Junkies episode was well done, the Gumball Auction neat, and the wins are very impressive. We're all rooting for(and leghumping) you!

You guys don't miss anything, do you?
Actually...no, those are an older pair. I was wearing those because I want to frame my pair that I finished 2006 in (great memories in those shoes). I will have a whole new gear setup (new suit and shoes) for WRC Mexico because of the new Monster deal. Alpinestars is really hooking me up...full black/gray camo suit!

Doubt it - Same people own the rights around the world.
Should be many more pics and video up on here after the event though - lots of 'us folk' are heading down.

Anyone know how Travis or Ken did at Mexico? Saw their cars on eurosport at the super special stage.
| XenoWolf | 03-17-2007 12:56 AM |
Ken rolled on SS1 but restarted the next day.
Travis finished 5th in the PWRC, 15th(?) overall.
