Dragon Fire
Has anybody seen this thing? It was featured on the latest SCC. It shoots out real fire from the exhaust! I don't know much about it, just thought it was interesting. Please add any more info.

This thing is no joke I saw it. It enriches the fule allot and the left over is ignighted by a type of sparker in the tail pipe. Its all controlled by a switch in the cab. You can just rev up hit the switch. I've heard you can get flames up to 6 feet.

I saw that too the other day. That thing is so cool! I want one, but probably it will eventually melt some of the body parts.
| STiShawn | 03-14-2001 01:59 PM |
I saw it and laughed, then thought, hrmmm. This could be usefull for tailgaters![img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/eek.gif[/img]
| CosmoTheCat | 03-14-2001 02:29 PM |
Yeah that's an old hot rod trick. I thought they put an extra fuel injector aft of the muffler to do it.
| Andrew | 03-14-2001 02:59 PM |
795 for the kit????? HAHAHAHA thats hella dumb. I'll just go to some junkyard and pull a plug from a diesel truck or something and then run rich. hhahahah 795. man i should come out with a kit for 500. you save 300 bucks.

It's from the april issue of SCC. I thought it was an early april fool's joke, but it seems pretty legit. The article also has stuff about a NA BOV. Quote:"A processor that calculates electrical signal from the airflow meter controls the sound, which is set off everytime throttle is closed"
Who needs a turbo, I'm gonna get me one of these! [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]

For this one, all you need is a car, a sparkplug, ignition wire and a switch. Install the spark plug into the last four or five inches of the tailpipe after you have drilled a hole the spark plug can screw into easily and securly. Then all you do is, attach the wire (this is regular insulated wire) to one side of the switch and to the spark plug..then on the other side of the switch attach that ot the POSITIVE terminal of the battery.
With the car on, rev it up to near redline, then lift off the throttle and flip the switch.. VIOLA flames [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]
and i just saved you 800 bucks..THIS way WORKS i have done it on many muscles cars and hot rods, even a 67 beetle running a 2300cc motor with near 200 horse [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/eek.gif[/img] [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

They also said that the company doesn't have any importers in the US yet, and the estimated price is about $795 for the kit.
| Seca2man | 03-15-2001 10:47 AM |
We could all be like the batmobile. Maybe I'd do it for a 100-300 bucks but NOT $800. Probably need a scrolling led sign to warn people behind you.

Actually you could get a even better fire by richening you AFC. By richening your fuel you'll get a better flame. As for the sparkplugs.. I used to have them in my Jeep. It was great because the flames would shoot out on the sides. I had dual plugs (2 on each pipe) with packard ignition wire going to the 1 and 8 cylinders on the distributer With a on/off switch..This thing was great, used to throw out 5 foot flames[img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif[/img] Till I got caught by the cops on RT231 aka;DPA aka: Deer Park Ave..The local cruzing strip... The website is www.night-pager.com or www.nite-pager.com They are the same company that makes the N/A blowoff valve that I just posted about in the Powertrain Forum. Wow you guys are all good at ruining peoples self esteem. Cant you just be a little more civil. FYI I think that the Dragon Fire is cool too. Geez!
