sweet thanks. Im thinking about buying the car, its from a dealer (gag) the car has 98,000 on it and they are asking 13,900. is this a good deal? i can probably talk them down a bit but still any pointers would help.

Not a good deal at all. That's more than you'll find 02 WRX's with less miles going for. There's a lot of miles on it, and since it's obviously been modified, the previous owner probably drove it realllll hard.

according to KBB its worth $11,400 retail value, and thats what they reccomend for starting negotiations with. Depending on the condition of the car, i bet you could easily get it for under $10,000. What mods does it have?

yah the ad says that it has AEM intake and an M exaust system. Its obviosly lowered. Idk I love the look of the car but they would need to sell it for around 10,000 or below before i signed on it.im going to go test drive it tomorow. The add also says "custom leather interior" knowing my luck it will be stupid ricer body colored interior trim lol.

Well the only WRX that I could buy for 13 would be a slavaged title, and i cant get financing on that crap. I really do love the look of the 1998-2001 2.5rs i believe they are called the GC8 bodystyle but im not sure. I live in washington and cars are usually a little bit more pricey here than other parts of the country.

Dude, that car has been at that lot for at least a year, if not more now. The one in Bothell, yes? I looked at that car as well.

I wouldn't pay more than $8k for that car. I looked at it very closely after totally my old RS.
I got an 02 WRX with 39k miles for $15k. You could easily find a non-salvage WRX for $13k.

if this is in Washington then no you can't find a wrx for 13k unless its a POS, but that car is def not worth 13k i doubt i would pay even 10 for it. Just from the outside appearance it doesnt look to be in very good condition. From what i can see, scratches on the side skirt(s), possible damage on the front bumper above the foglight and the hood doesnt line up with the left fender.

dont buy that car what ever you doo. I was car searching three weeks ago and bought an 04 wrx, I paid 18500 at ralley in windsor locks CT, with 31000 and it was driven by a soccer mom. My suggestion is dont buy that one. High miles of some one killin on it is not too good. Start it up and listen to see how badly it rattles. Keep looking and dont be obsesed with this one car. Check forums for used nice ones, this is one car I found quickly in the private classifides.
"FS: 02 WRX Wagon 34K miles" Don't trust auto trader that much either, look in to the car and test drive, dont be afraid to push it when you do drive it either. Get every thing in writing and don't be a pushover when it comes to any little detail, tell them you don't like the color or you think the tires are bald or that you think a kid beat on it, always walk away if they dont take your price, its their job to sell, it's not your job to buy. Take heed and watch out, its your money that your giving to them. :D ;)
