my idea was to buy the motor, and the wiper from the wagon, and then drill the glass...

I remembered asking Kingpin and they quoted me around USD 700 for the set. I think I saw another set go for around USD 400 ++ too ...

are you sure you can "drill" saftey glass?
| krillz | 06-15-2004 01:32 PM |
use use a glass cutter or glass bit
| Vostok 7 | 06-15-2004 01:39 PM |
Can't drill the rear window :(
I've been looking into this myself as it's a mod I would KILL to do, but unfortunately it's nearly impossible. Sourcing the pieces straight from Subaru Japan would be unbelieveably expensive... the glass alone costs $1500-2000.
Your best bet is to scour Ebay as a setup pops up once in a blue moon, or to get a JDM STi shell, which I almost did.
Then comes the wiring...

I don't think it is the same because the antenna is now in the rear glass.

I think all Impreza's should have come with that rear wiper.
The car just looks complete with one.

Yep. It's also a safety thing IMO since there are MANY times I could see using one.
I don't get it. America is so bent out of shape about safety and yet we don't get half the cool safety gizmos that the Japanese or Europeans get.

we spend to much time talkin on cellphones...putting on make up...watching DVDs....playing with the radio....chowing down on one of those greaseball burgers that come in those non-biodegradable styrofoam containers....talking to the person next to us while driving and not looking at the road...and all of the non-safe driving skillz we have aquired in todays modern society...
<---uses rain-x on front and rear windshields....

They are going for $795 shipped give or take a bit for distance. Shipping costs are high as these have to be crated by glass specialist and shipped frieght so that it arrives in one peice. Thanks.

Is there a picture of said glass on your car Kingpin?
| VSGTS14 | 06-19-2004 04:06 PM |
just buy rain x and slap it on...
that stuff is amazing.

LOL. I don't think the point of the wiper is entirely in it's functionality. Pics of my car from awhile ago before it was painted here:
