EDO STI at Infineon part 1

Kikin 09-13-2006 07:05 PM

EDO STI at Infineon
Today Migue from PR (the owner of the Riddler) and EDO crew did some testing at the Infineon track in order to have the car ready for the next NASA time trials in this track. They did 2 practice sessions one in the morning and one in the afternoon with a best lap time of 1:50.1. This is in the 2.52 mile configuration.
They try to have better times on the afternoon session but the track turn a little greasy and had to much traffic. The car still have some setting to do and can't wait to see better times. As soon as I have some pics I'll post them. Just to let you know how the project was coming along.
nxttruck2002 09-13-2006 07:07 PM

Congratulations to EDO and Migel!!
Pictures are good, but videos are better!
Kikin 09-14-2006 07:19 PM

Here is a pic of the car and some videos. They are really short 'cause they were taken with a dig. camera. As soon as the other videos are ready I'll post them.

How much power are you running on the TMIC aka how much power can you get out of the TMIC. I have a Spearco right now and want to go Garrett GT2876R or GT2871R or GT3076R not sure what turbo but was told TMIC isn't good for close to 400whp.

Your car seems very nicely setup...Oh and what tyoe size infectors are you using???

The injectors are PE850cc and the tire size is 245/40-18.

I know that the TMIC would take a little of HP out but I been surprise with the TXS TMIC, My personal car is doing 520whp @ 25psi for TA and this car did 451whp last time we dyno it. On the testing we ran around 350whp since there was a change in fuel brans but will be hitting the dyno before next event!! hope to get around 430whp!!

I was worried about heat soak and temps with my ESX TMIC (Spearco) especially on the track. I was worried about maybe some future engine problems because of this and its possible effects on a tune/engine. Man your #s are great with a TMIC any issues with EGTs etc when running on a hot day at the track???

Wondered what sort of times you ended up running at Infineon?

Mike
alcrudojr #00 09-26-2006 12:35 PM

Basically our best time was 1.50:11. For this coming event we will be working with aligment, Tunning and weight reduction since the car is fully. I really feel more confident wityh the track and there are key details we need to adjust that at least 2 sec. will be improved. I don't have very clear were we stand but at least from TTU results on previous events this will put us in competition.

Here is a pic of the car in action during this past weekend event at Infineon:

Here is a link with the best results of the weekend. The car is in the TTU time trials class. The car name is EDO Performance. BTW they were using the long 7 configuration.

I was there, nice setup. R you guys going to buttonwillow?
JZ oo7 10-11-2006 01:31 PM

what happen to the front? i heard from a fire volunteer that you guys had crashed heavily on saturday and the front was all tape. i didn't even notice that until he had told me. i was just thinking before i found out that those were some really blue headlight covers that blended in really well with the car.
Kikin 10-11-2006 09:29 PM

What they told me was that he was following one of the mustangs. They got to a corvette. They gave the corvette a blue flag to let them pass. They made the move on turn 7, the corvette gave way to the mustang and he was close behind the mustang. Apparently they guy in the corvette didn't see him and when he was going to pass they make contact. Nothing major was damaged but the bumper being made out of fiberglass cracked and had to be "fixed" with blue racing tape.
