Google Earth Overlay Pinpointing US Tracks

Ive been working on this on and off for a while and I figured that some of you could use this too. Ive got as many tracks as I could find marked with most of the direct sites to the tracks. If anyone wants this as an overlay I will be more thank willing to email it to you. If you want it pm me your email address and I will send it.

You may want to catagorize the tracks into major road tracks (ALMS, Champ) minor road tracks (SCCA, Track day) and ovals. Otherwise it's going to get crowded (at least at that scale). Then you could maybe add in drag strips too.

I assume this is meant as a source for tracks that we could possible race or attend track days at. I really doubt anyone would run an oval, so I'd leave those out. I don't care about drag strips, but some do. I'd do one with road courses, and one with drag strips. Otherwise it'll just get too crowded.

Im working on better organizing the tracks. Its hard because there isnt a definite lines between what each track does. The great thing about google earth is that you can zoom in. So if it is crowded you can zoom till it isnt as bad.
As for the dragstrips, it is in the works. It is much more time consuming because it seems like there is one in every county. Those I will probally break into states. I could do the road courses the same way but there are not as many so it seems kinda excessive.
The ovals will as eventually get done also but that is kinda a long ways off.
This is a work in progress and you guys are the test subjects. Once i feel that it is comprehensive enough I plan on posting the files on google's sharing site.

In Colorado, Continental Divide Raceway no longer exists but you are missing La Junta Raceway in the South Eastern part of the State.

One year later, reviving an old topic I stumbled across. If you're looking for a good site for locating tracks [URL="http://www.chasinracin.com/track-locator/index.html"][U]try this site[/U][/URL]. They've got the tracks broken down by drag strip, road course, dirt ovals, paved ovals, the whole 9 yards. As a Navy guy who moves around I've found it be very useful in finding where I'll be able to get hits on the GoFast Crack Pipe at my next duty station. :)
