Has anybody seen this Body style

I have recently seen this impreza body style and would like to know if its the japanese or the euro styling that we in the states were left out of, like usual. I hope somebody out there can shed a little lite on the mattar, or let me know were I can get some specs on that particular impreza.

i think, not positive, that it's an old prototype. not totally sure though, remember seeing it along time ago

that's what the new impreza should've looked like! i love my rex, and think she's a sexy machine if i ever did see one....but the one in that pic....yikes!

Yes, that's more or less a photoshop "prototype" of what the new Impreza might have looked like... There are many more variations that were floating around before they unveiled the actual body style...

I think somebody should come out with a body kit that looks like this prototype version of the impreza. I love the current look of the wrx now but .. come on

IIRC this was an actual prtotype style for the new WRX. A couple of British car mags ran 'first glimpse' stories showing this style some time ago.
I wish Subaru decided to go with this look. Far better IMHO.

OH MY DAMN LORD HAVE MERCY OH MAN...that is definitely definitely definitely what they should have stuck with. So clean and flowing. Better even than the old school RS's I think. Man they would have sold a ton.

Look at it closely...it looks just like a civic with a hood scoop,...not much better than a neon with a hood scoop, get real Subies arn't known for there looks now are they?

I remember back when that picture was first posted. Everybody hated it and swore up and down that Subaru better not build it. Now look. It's a photoshopped spy photo IIRC.

i remember seeing that last year, and hoping that the impreza would not change to the new look. and even then it looked mighty funny to me. now it looks pretty nice, even though it is a prototype.
oh well, the new wrx still looks sexy. :D

see now if that body was to be the wrx we know now. I would be so jealous that I didnt wait another year to get that. But with what the wrx looks now, I'm kinda happy I got the 2001 GC8 body instead of the new body. OMG i cant help but drooling over that picture.... so sad it was not ment to be

North America accepts the WRX as is because we finally get THE ENGINE that it's attatched to.
The question is: Will Subaru bow to the flaq from Japan, Austrailia, and Europe who have been vocal in their demand for a front end restyle. If Subaru is hardheaded we might not see a sheetmetal restyle till fall 2002 (MY03) when that "special" pink cars gets here:rolleyes: ;)

Looks like a cross between the style that we got and the old style imprezas. I wouldn't mind that styling at all on my WRX.

Mag-X ran that many moons ago, somebody did a Photochop using the legacy as a base of what the Impreza might look like given Subaru's design trends, based off what they made the legacy look like.
If you don't notice, it's a modified outback grille, the bumper doesn't actually have cutouts for the fog lights, they're just there. A modified Focus rear section (yep, that's right!) with a fake wing all blended together.
I thought this design looked pretty cool, and I think a lot of people were basing what the redesign might look like off this, and many had their hopes up.
I don't know how many of you remember some of the press that came out after the design was "unveiled". let's just say people were "surprised"

To tell the truth I think that picture's been used for PhotoShop jobs of the upcoming US-bound Nissan/Infinity Skyline, too. :D
