Interior project..Phase 1 started
Here's a few interior parts I had wrapped in titanium carbon fiber. We're still waiting on the center console to come back. I'll post some installed pics tomorrow. Since the file size limitation is small on this site I'll just link pics from this thread http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showpost.php?p=562610&postcount=15.

looks cool...so its real cf wrapped over the plastic? if u dont mind posting how much did the stuff run you and where did you get it done? good luck and post pics when its all done!
Audiomotive 03-16-2006 12:56 AM

It's real CF (well no such thing as real silver or titanium carbon fiber it's really Texalium) wrapped over the stock pieces. We sent them out over seas to get done. As far as price I haven't got the bill yet but probably around $1000+ (just labor and using our own stock pieces) for all the pieces we had done. The center console was a difficult piece to wrap cleanly. I should get that back next week.

DOPE! I wanted to do that to my shifter surround since on the 01's it comes with t3h f4k3 carbon. Real carbon would look soo much better. I hope to see it all installed soon. I might hit you up for some info about the people.

cheers

aaah! paint the A-pillar black please
Rustoleum Black textured paint for plastics $4.95 @ homedepot. 2 coats on each pillar and youre good!
Audiomotive 03-17-2006 10:36 PM

Actually thought of doing that to all the pillars and wrapping headliner in suede. Actually prefer SEM paints over rustoleum.

Looks good..I'm trying to get my gauge surround done like that.
Audiomotive 03-31-2006 01:02 AM

Finally got around to setting up some space on our server. Here's the link to a gallery of the trims all installed.

shigiddy shigiddy shigiddy swag! Nice meng!
sniece 03-31-2006 08:15 AM

Looks nicely done! So did they mold off of the original parts, or did they just overlay extra material on top of the stock bits? Any thoughts on what the strength of Texalium is vs. carbon fibre?

Steve
telum01 03-31-2006 05:03 PM

how durable is that? is it pretty scratch-resistant? how easy is it, if at all, to knock the carbon off the original piece?
Godfather Inc 03 03-31-2006 09:32 PM

looks pretty good
Audiomotive 04-01-2006 01:20 PM

It's very durable with an epoxy based uv resistant clear coat. It's very secure and seriously doubt it will peel of the original piece from everyday use. It doesn't feel extra thick like the stick on kits feel.
