Some dick hauled out in front of me only to do 15 under the limit (glaring at me in the mirror the whole time). Naturally I blew my horn at him...then instantly wished i hadnt (meeeeeeeeep).
God what a pitiful sound.

Unabomber has four of those Hellas behind his grill in addition to the stockers I believe
| kujo79 | 07-29-2005 10:17 AM |
interesting posts,
I guess you guys are looking for something louder than stock. I'm looking for something with a lower pitch. Meaning something that sounds like a BMW not a honda.
Any tips?

Seriously, Unabomber ... you trying to kill people by simply honking your "Air Raid" horns?

He isn't the only one with 4 hellas in the front
Except mine are all painted black for a somewhat stealthier appearance.

Excessively loud horns are just dangerous because they don't just call a driver's attention when they doing something wrong; they startle people, distracting them. I'd prefer not to honk at them and have them smash into me in their state of fright.
If you want to do something honorable, do what my friend's dad did: install an airhorn, and have a switch inside to choose between that and the stock horn. That will call people's attention much better, and is funny as hell. It's the other extreme of sound pitch.

Silly n00b!
This is a 100 watt external police grade speaker. As you can see, it's mounted above my turbo. It is connected to a police head unit mounted under the seat. While the sirens, whelp, bark, etc. do function, I just use the PA function at Subaru Meets or whenever the mood strikes me. :)

I believe red is the only color, but it's really easy to spray paint blue as the grills are only attached with screws.

I originally painted my first 2 blue to match the car but when I got the other pair I painted them all black so they wouldn't draw too much attention. With just the 2 blue ones in there I would get asked several times a week by random people what they were . Even had a construction sign holder person stop me to ask what they were.

Get supertones. I was on the phone (lol driving on the phone) with a friend this morning and some jerk ass pulled out in front of me so I laid in to the horns. My friend said he thought I got hit by Amtrak
| BoneStockTS | 07-29-2005 08:14 PM |
I got the 132 dB low freq horn at O'Reilly's auto parts this afternoon. Installing it was a cinch. List price was $25 but I got it for $15.
