my new idea

so i got a ticket yesterday and it got me thinking about how my car attracts cops. i have wheels and a S202 CF replica wing. i think i am gonna put a stock wing or go wingless now and put the stock wheels back on. then i can put the money i get from the wheels back into the motor and suspension. what do u all think? would it be worth it, and would it make that big of a difference w/the cop factor?

keep the wheels, i doubt cops notice that all that much
| Xymox | 09-24-2005 08:27 PM |
Dits on the cool wheels, keep 'em. I say go wingless for sure.
| kbcr3 | 09-24-2005 08:31 PM |
get rid of the wing, and put one of those trunk lips on.

The stock or smaller wing would attract less attention from cops. There seems to be a very concentrated effort by cops to crack down on speeding. I see them often as much as every five miles on freeways and they hide a lot as well. I think they are looking for speeders going 15 or more over, but if it is a slow day, they will go after anyone.

yep, that is for sure. this one was over about 40 yards off the highway, sitting beside the trees. it was a black unmarked. got a ticket for 86 in a 70 :(

Keep the wheels, sell the wing...then go motor and suspension.

if you really want to avoid attracting cops, you should try not breaking the law.
| wrxcelent | 09-24-2005 08:46 PM |
^^while this is very true, i would like to blend in a little better w/the rest of traffic.
| Kerosene | 09-24-2005 08:51 PM |
^^ conformer!
| wrxcelent | 09-24-2005 09:59 PM |
when it comes to drawing attention from the police yes, i wana be a conformer

Cops might try the same thing. They ticketed my g/f for speeding but waited until the speed limit dropped from 55 to 40 before they wrote out the ticket for the speed she was going in the 55 zone. I.e. it was a lot more money for them.
The traffic "system" in this country is only after one thing: $$. They don't care one iota about safety or people. It SURE isn't about justice. I saw this lady in traffic court try to fight a ticket. She was ticketed for going the wrong way on a one way street. The street was actually a circle around a church and the ONLY one way sign was parallel with the road. I.e. you couldn't see it unless you were perpendicual to the road (as in coming out of the church parking lot). The judge's "reasoning" was that since it was called "xyz circle" she should have known it was one way.
Obeying the law??? How about me getting arrested and JAILED for riding my bicycle out on a training ride solo one day. Broad daylight, helmeted, sober, riding all the way to the right.
Yeah cops should obey the law more than the citizens.
Oh and wt heck??? It's ok for them to speed to catch a speeder???

Yeah i noticed that... My friend was doing like 40 in a 35 and the cop had his car off (it was around 12:30 at night) then he turns his car on... goes like 60 to catch up to us with his lights off the whole time... tails the **** out of us for about a mile and a half then pulls my friend's car over and give him a ticket for 50 in a 35... I bet the cop didn't eve have a ****ing radar on us... Yeah it's rediculous but on stuff like that it is cops word vs yours in court and there's not much you can do about it.

you guys have to remember, it takes a certain type to be a cop(i wont say all, but), most cops get off on screwing with people like us. be smart about when you decide to speed, and dont bitch when you get caught doing it, suck it up.

Agree with the rest Get the Mines CF spoiler and drop that baby and keep those rims. Looks good still though.

True. For every one good cop there are fifty bad ones who were picked on in highschool and want to flex some muscle by getting a badge. I like to deal with police officers individually but as a whole I think that they are all jerks.

on what grounds did he(or she) arrest you? I am a bit confused as to why riding a bike solo is illegal?

Well technically. I was arrested for not signing the $114, 4 point on my driver's license ticket he gave for riding on a limited access highway. Which was in no way marked. Which he didn't even know what made it limited access. Which the judge and state prosecutor even agreed he shouldn't have done.
After I said I wasn't signing it as quick as he could turn around and place his ticket pad on the car I was in cuffs.
Lol. No training wheels. I just took them off the week before. :P Also believe it or not at one or two events there are naked races. Lol

i know i deserved the ticket but it just got me thinking that maybe if i didn't stand out then i would be less likely to be noticed by the cops. it seems like they see the wing and they r just waiting for me to screw up.
