shift handle auto MY00 RS ??
 

Did the automatic shift handle come stiched in red?? mine didnt if they were I have just the steering wheel done . just wonderin.

What MY is your car? On my MY00 the auto came in leather with red stitching.

mine is a 2000. wonderin why mine is plain stiched. as far as the stick vs auto,if you had a left knee like mine youd no why. if i get enough response from others with MYOO s with red stiching im gona holler at the dealer till i get one lol thanks

Red stitiching and leather comes on ALL 2000+ RS's. not sure about the 99z or 98z

Dude, the red stiching is on the steering wheel and the 5-SPEED shift knob only. I believe this is stated in the 2000 sales brochure.

I have 2000 RS with AT. It doesn't have a red stiched shifter.

My2000 RS sales catogue reads [leather wrapped steering wheeland shift knob with red stiching]. Ishift my automatic with that thing. it outa be red stiched. im gonna find out.

i dont shift my auto like a stick,,thats the phrase or description im gonna use on the dealer ie. forward to reverse, thats shiften gears as in shift knob.

Maybe its a US thing? Cause I'm certain in Canada the autos come with red stitching on the shifter.

The auto RS is definatly supposed to have the red stiching. I am calling the Dealer to get one for my GF's auto RS. Even shows it in the pamplet under the RS standard features.

None of the MY00s that I saw had red stitching on the auto shifter, including the one I bought.

this is getting interesting. called my dealer,talked to my salesman , a guy i trust believe it or not. his 1st reaction was"you mean it doesnt match the steering wheel ?" he says it should . hes tryin to get to the regional rep. ill keep yall posted .

I talked to the parts dept. and he said it has a defferent P/N from the L auto nob. So they are working on getting the Red stiched nob for my GF's MY01.

of course it does- the L has a different colored interior. the RSs get Black, and the Ls get grey, right? I think they used to get tan, but that ended a few years ago..

What?!? the auto shifter is leather? mine seems all plastic, even the black stiches. I thought the red stiches are only on the stick shift?? If anyone of u get those switched to the red stiching... i'm goin 2 the dealer.

Mine is leather with black stitching but steering wheel is red stitching I thought that was weird too.Let us know what happens.

yebokmj, Could you post the P/N for the Auto RS shift nob? Red stiched.

Edit: The shift nob is P/N 35126FA120 and called a "grip" $136.21 at subaruparts.com

Still working on it with the Reagonal Rep.

I smell a national class action suite brewing for deceptive advertizing. Any Attorneys out there?

geesh!! what did i start??? lol thanks josh fr the part #s. subaru of america kinda hung up on me when i called . they must know somethins up.they mentioned somethin about a disclaimer in the catologue , so I asked em suppose i didnt get a 2,5 moter would the disclaimer cover that ???? they arent happy with me . said theyed call me back.havent yet. i wasnt rude they were. my dealer said theyd get me one if subaru wont. ill keep yall posted.

afterthought; my 98 legacey gt has the same knob as the forester s. my guess is it was a production thing, not enough red ones around when the imprezas went bye the line ie. " hey Wang just put the plain black one on, those goofy americans never notice ".

I work at a dealership anc I can tell you that it is suposed to have the red stiching stock. What you have is a forester S auto shift knob. The only year that shouldn't have the red stiching is 98. Though I can say I have see a few RS autos come through with the all black Forester S shift knob.
