Questions about debadging S U B A R U
I've had my JBP 04 Wagon for 5 months now and I'm starting to consider removing the SUBARU lettering from the hatch lid. What do you guys think about doing this on a wagon? How does it look? Also, is it still ok to remove the badges on a black car after the paint has been in the sun for 5+ months?

I debadged my pearl ridge blue wagon about 5 months after i got it, what you do is get a hair dryer and keep it a letter for about 5 minutes, then get some handy dandy dental floss or fishing line and sortof slide it behind the letter, repeat for the imreza the ts or any thing on the hatch, when you finish with that you will have a bunch of gunky glue left over from the letters and what not, go out and buy yourself some goo-gone, its an orange liquid and only cost like 4 or 5 dollars, fallow the directions and use a credit card or hotel key or somthing to that effect wrapped in some cotton fabric to scrape off the glue. trust me it will look good when your done, if you post or e-mail me a pic i can photoshop it for you if youd like, Ill always help a fellow ts owner  good luck.

I was thinking of de-badging and then rebadging my wagon to make new words out of S U B A R U and/or I M P R E Z A. Here's some anagrams I found:

BRUISER
AMAZER
REPAIR
PURSUER/PURSUE
BIZARRE
SAMURAI
SUPERB
SUBPAR
BUMPER (just labelling the hatch, I guess)
ABUSER
SUPER
PUBES

I put the little SUBARU next to the keyhole on my car. and my microfiber towels caught on the A and it started to peel.. so I ordered a second Subaru decal.. and my friend told me to combine the two and put "ASS RUBBUR" on the back of my car :)

I had my car about 6 months before I debadged my trunk. I didn't notice any fading or anything, but I park in the garage..

I debadged mine at 32k miles. Just get a mixed solution of gas and water and rub a bit around the area and it will melt the paint a little and will look nice. Thats what i did but it was actually faded from rubbing the crap out of the back to get the goo off with some bug and tar remover.

Rubbing gasoline on your paint?

Use 3M Adhesive remover, you can get it at any parts store. Its been used by many people here on NASIOC and won't harm your paint. Thats what I used

I did this mod 3 weeks after having the car

It looks great. I left the WRX emblem on there to balance out the keyhole. My car had 35K miles on it before I debadged and it wasnt faded at all.

Be sure to wash and wax the whole car afterwards since there will be no wax underneath the letters.

Always a good idea, but really - you only need apply a good coat of wax to the back end where the badge was (for now).

I debadged my car 3 months old. Took me 4 1/2 hours total. That's got to be a record or maybe I'm just really slow or I suck. :p

How about take out the "SUBARU" out of the trunk and rearrange so it reads "SURUBA" which means "orgy" in portuguese....lol..

A dealership would have to pay me to have their badge on a car. And it would be a monthly payment as I am being used for advertisment.

Funny, when I first saw that badge, I thought it was a 94-96 Impala SS badge.
