#5 is not a Celica. Look at the bumper.
Jon Bogert 02-17-2001 04:08 PM

Tangmere, yes, #7 is a Lada. For extra credit, which model?
Tangmere 02-17-2001 05:14 PM

Lada Riva?
slidewaysmike 02-17-2001 07:29 PM

The bumper is what I am looking at, and I know it isn't a Celica, I just don't recognize it.
The only car I can think of with a possible bumper like that and flip up headlights would be a Early 80's Nissan 300zx.
I see that the drivers headlight has what looks like a set of louvers in front of them for when they are shut off, and that I think is another thing that they had on those years of 300zx, but I may be way off.

Lada VFTS (Very Fast Trabant Stomper? [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]), a works rally car based on the 1600 I believe.
Jon Bogert 02-19-2001 06:36 AM

OK, here's a hint for #9. It's a car maker known more for F1 than rally.
Tangmere 02-19-2001 06:56 AM

I'm inclined to think its something British and mid/rear engined. Lotus, maybe? But the headlights are wrong. Its a road car, that much I know.

Arghh! This is driving me nuts!
ralyrcr 02-19-2001 07:09 AM

5 is a lancer.

jon
Jon Bogert 02-19-2001 07:18 AM

Nope.
mykrrrr 02-19-2001 07:50 AM

#5 - Corolla AE86???

#9 - Ferrari or Lotus - just taking stabs at the wind...

subrew2 02-19-2001 07:52 AM

Pretty sure the last one is a Ligier. My spelling is horrible I know, but the model was something like the LJ3.

Chris Hartman www.subrew.com
Jon Bogert 02-19-2001 08:25 AM

YES! #9 is a Ligier JS2.

#5 is not a Toyota, but it is Japanese.

#8 was the first of its marque driven by Erik Carlsson.
subrew2 02-19-2001 08:40 AM

#8 can't be the first of the marque...as the first Saab was the model 92. It used the transverse 2-cyl 2-stroke of 800cc...and had a low, more horizontal grill.

If the model in the picture isn't a 96, then it must be a 93. If it has suicide doors, then it is a 93B. If normal doors, then a 93F. Both use a 750cc 3-cyl 2-Stroke with a 3-speed column shift.

It could possibly be a Saab 750GT, which was a 93F with the triple solex carb setup and 4-speed.

And yes...my family has had well over 100 Saabs through the years, including a '59 Black 93B currently...

Jon Bogert 02-19-2001 08:45 AM

You're right--not the first--it is a Saab 93.
Jon Bogert 02-19-2001 08:47 AM

RenMaxi--you're right! #5 is the Nissan.
slidewaysmike 02-19-2001 09:39 AM

Hey, I was very close!! I was the first to guess it was a Nissan!
Just not the correct model.

5 Door Man 02-19-2001 10:02 PM

Well, I didn't do too bad. #1, 2, 4, and 8, although I wasn't sure it was a 93 or a bull nose 96.
