Retroed my headlights again

I wasn't completely happy with the first time I retroed my headlights...

So I changed it up a bit, a little different than the first time but I'm much happier with them... I don't think I'm going to change them again!
Let me know what you guys think:

For inquiring minds, they're e46 bixenon projectors, with the respective bmw shrouds, ccfl angel eyes with the housing painted flat back minus the reflector... And a very expensive led corner bulb...

are the angel eyes somehow directional?
the driver's side one looks like it points out in one picture & in in another.
or is it just an effect of the pictures?
in any case, it looks cool.

| ptirmal | 06-23-2006 01:11 PM |
the shrouds from bmw is chrome and it says xenon on it in a little shinier chrome... I just accented it different... I have it the same way on my bike:

Shots of the beam pattern?? They really look sick...can you toggle the angle eyes on and off? Or are they on whenever the DRL's would be on (whenever lights are on)?
Very very nice

I was too at first, I just decided to go for it and I
wanna make me a set?
Can't, my original plan was to make another set for sale but I just don't have enough time. I'm actually selling my spare set of projectors and ballasts on ebay right now.
what projectors?
E46 Bi xenons (bosch)... common on the 03-05 M3's
too dark imo...i would have taken out the amber cover for the turn signals also.
I wanted something darker and sportier than the first time I did it. I probably could have went with a matte gray or some accent gray but I'm happy with how it is now. As for the turn signals I originally planned on doing it like that but I didn't like how it looked so I went back, lol...

It's just how it looks with the blacked out insides, plus that day was very cloudy... Nothing is tinted.

It's funny but I don't have any beam shots I can find. The angel eyes are tied into my parking lights, I keep them on all the time basically, and at night the projectors come on... DRL is disconnected, it just kept messing with my wiring harness.
Thanks for the comments guys... My only problem since doing the retro this time around was my first time I didn't use any dialectric grease on the inverters and where they plug into the angel eyes. In turn water got in and blew the inverters, they both went bad within a week of each other, lol... I have since weather proofed them excessively.

how come bixenons are commonly found on cars that also have separate halogen driving light/highbeams as well?
such as:

why would you need halogen as well? flash to pass with lights off? driving lights? what's the deal here?

Those are driving lights/day time running lights, not high beams :)
