STi Manual Pedal Set - Install Question
I just bought a set and was wondering how and how hard to replace the pedals in our 02 WRXes? Is there any issues with the dead pedal? Please help.

Anyone???

I have a set, but have not installed them yet. So my comments are only worth so much.
You didn't say if you have a MT or AT. The dead pedal is designed for the JDM cars so won't fit our cars without some mod. The brake and clutch should fit easily. The hardest seems to be the gas pedal. Didn't you set come with some instructions. Even though written in Japanese, the drawings should show enough for the install.

Brake and clutch are simple since you can take the old pedal covers off. The gas isn't as simple since the pedal cover is pretty well attached and the new pedal cover wasn't meant to fit over our stock pedal cover it seems. What I had to do was elongate the hole on the right side that the pin/screw fits through so that I could get the nut on. If you have the pedals you'll know what I mean. The dead pedal is pretty much useless. I'd just get one from one of the other guys that makes dead pedals. Even if you do manage to bolt it onto the floor somehow it looks silly in most cases.

I have an auto set...easy install just like the previous post said...but for the dead pedal i lifted the rug and drilled new holes on the extra peice of metal where the dead pedal goes (dunno the tech. term for it but you'll know it when you see it)...then just screw it down...

I put my dead pedal yesterday (after looking at it lying on my table for 4 months)
but I went even easier way, I just made holes in the carpet:D How lame of me, but I don't have a drill:D

I got the manual (MT) as stated on the subject. Got the steel blue color. I want the install to go as smoothly as possible and know all the possible kinks before I get my hands (and feet) filthy. So the brake and clutch are easy. For the gas, I guess I have to yank the old one off and then see what I can do to put it on correctly. For the dead pedal, I was going to buy from the guy here at i-club but I really like the whole STi pedals.
Thanks for all the comments, guys. Keep them coming if you have more...

I'm like a doctor... bringing the dead back to life!
This is the only thread I found about STi pedal sets. My question is the same except I don't have the same set that you guys are talking about here. I bought my set here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1769689
The brake and clutch were easy enough. My roommate has fingers like machines and just ripped the pads off and then was able to put the tiny clamps together.
The problem is that the gas pedal is curved and the stock pedal isn't! So nothing lines up. I just pushed my car alone up the drive way so I can park it because chances are I'm not getting this done tonight.
If anyone has any experience with these STi pedal sets and a 02 wrx/sti - 06 wrx/sti please hit me up. I think I'm too pissed and I'm missing something basic here or I'm correct and these aren't meant to be bolt up even though they say in the instructions they are.

Any chance you can take a picture of what you got from the side, rather than straight down like in the picture on the link?

Yea, I'll go snap a few shots of everything and post them up.

I have a set of jdm manual sti pedals, the ones that come in anodized gold, blue or polished finish.
I say if you are going to get pedals you should get the manual ones since those have a larger "nub' that sticks out on the gas pedal.
sorry can't help you with your prob, your gas pedal looks bent and different from mine. did you run a searh on the part number? is it for GD or GC?or?

So I tried to get the holes to line up but the pedal doesn't line up correctly. I then tried to turn it over and got the same problem. I tried to do it without using the OEM pedal but that doesn't even come close. I can only think of drilling a new hole into the plast and put it on top of the OEM pedal but then it's going to stick up really far from the brake pedal. I am just super pissed that this is a kit that the dealerships sell and it's not a bolt on process.

So I just finished googling the part number in the photos and it seems that this is for 2006 model imprezas.
I'm going to double check with my local dealer to see if there is a difference and see if I can get my money back from the guy I bought them from if there is.
Can I see your JDM pedal set? I am going to try and go back to stock but I am curious what yours look like and where you got them from.

This was one of the first mod that I did to my car so I really dont remember the detail. But I do remember that I used some wire to make the gas pedal fit and was kinda PITA.

I like this because of the flare factor! haha. I don't think I really want to mess with the whole thing again but my OEM clutch and brake pedal now don't sit right because i can't get the rubber on the back all the way around which makes the top part fell taller than the lower part.. annoying because I'm scared it's going to come off while I'm braking, haha.

I got the anodized blue ones. Sometimes I regret not getting the gold ones which are pimp. I mainly got the pedals for the gas pedal w/ the nub that sticks out so it would be easier for me to heel toe.
its not the best bang for the buck mod, but if you run out of stuff to do..totally worth it.
I would spend the 100 on suspension personally though....
no pics but I'll take some next time I have my camera in the car. pedals feel just like oem.

Yea, I'm not going to mess with pedals for a while. I'm just pissed I messed up and couldn't send them back to the guy.
Once I have my suspension and stg 2 ready I'll go back to find some pedals.

I have the MT STi pedal set and have been searching for an STi deadpedal. I can't find them without them being sold for the whole set, and NO I do not want the WRX one.

That is correct and in my case this was by far the hardest part of the install.
