Stupid chili dog eating.......... part 1

Stupid chili dog eating..........

Montoya out again!! His fault, again!

I'm losing my patience with this guy.

Go DC!
scotto 06-10-2001 01:28 PM

Well Ralf really made Montoya look a disapointment today. Qualifying, and finishing #1 vs. early crash. That guy needs to calm down just a bit.
slidewaysmike 06-10-2001 01:50 PM

While I admit that JPM has alot of raw talent, he needs to first grow-up a little. Then he needs to knock off the attitude thing he has. He seems to be under the impression that he is the end all when it comes to race car drivers.

I actually smile when I see him self-destructing. Because I really can't stand his attitude.

Don't want to start a flame war for all you Montoya lovers out there, but I believe that Alex Zanardi is a better driver than Montoya.

Anyone else?

Mike

zanardi..... montoya......

yeah, zanardi! :D

go dc!
Fred Zaplitny 06-10-2001 04:29 PM

Mike,
I am a Montoya fan and I couldn't agree with you more about Montoya. As far as Zanardi being better....? I was a Zanardi fan before I was a Montoys fan (I'm a big CART fan) and Alex has yet to impress me since he first left CART. Maybe I should just be a Gannassi fan and end it there.....nah!
slidewaysmike 06-10-2001 05:13 PM

Fred, I agree about Zanardi's less than triumphant career after leaving CART, although I still feel he is a great driver. Sometimes all it takes is a lucky day or a string of bad luck to either boost or lower your career. Hopefully he will start making more headway towards the front of the pack again.
Zanardi isn't my favorite racer of all time though, I just felt like he got the shaft in F1, and everyone is all Montoya this and that. For some reason Montoya has everybody thinking he is the one to beat Schumacher. I don't know.
I guess I am a pretty big CART fan too, I like alot of the drivers. I miss Greg Moore, he was going to be awesome. I miss Jauques Villeneuve in CART too. I usually root for him or Trulli or Frentzen or DC in F1. I feel sorry for Dario, when it rains it pours. I love watching Helio do good, I hope he outshines DeFerran this year. The season is definately getting more interesting though. I have too say that I was happy to see Montoya go to F1, I know you like him, but I just don't right now.

You think maybe Montoya and Solberg went to the same race school?

"Oi, Montoya, the track's that way <----- "

You're not the only one losing patience with JPM... JV vs. JPM

I am just glad DC blew it. He's doing it again.

Arioch 06-11-2001 06:37 AM

dc didn't blow it, his car did. :p

he'll come back to get the drivers championship.... you just wait!

J Colman 06-11-2001 06:45 AM

Youre missing the point, he's blown his chances at the Championship, like he always does.

Were moving into the second half of the season, this is where DC always falls of the pace and loses out on the championship, his track record is perfect.

Justin ;)
Fred Zaplitny 06-11-2001 02:16 PM

Justin,
DC hasn't blown his chances yet. Still a loooong way to go my friend!

Mike,
Helio is fast becoming one of my favorites in CART. I'll be rooting for him and Zanardi when I'm on Belle Isle next Sunday!
slidewaysmike 06-11-2001 03:17 PM

Lucky Dog!! Is that a good course for spectating? I have yet to experience a CART weekend. Whats it like? Lots of good stuff to do?

Mike
J Colman 06-11-2001 08:46 PM

Fred,
DC's finished, just like a chilidog thats within a mile of Pablo.

Justin ;)
Fred Zaplitny 06-11-2001 09:05 PM

Justin,
It's obvious to me you know jack crap about F1 racing........

OK that was low! :D I take it back.

DC still has a chance. Your precious Micheal is EXPECTED to win the title this year. This past weekend he was out Schumachered by his brother and made to look human (yes Micheal I do believe is human) and Micheal might just have some competition this year. Last year some complete ass posted that Micheal won the championship in an inferior car last year....What a bunch of horse****! The Ferarri's were the best cars on the circuit last year. Even Ruebens got a victory. Can't blame that on experience.

DC has been Mr. Smooth up until now and his first DNF was due to mechanical failure. I don't see how you can attribute that to DC falling apart and self destructing. DC is on a mission this season. Your precious one will not have it easy this year my friend....Oh no he won't!

Montoya might win......sometime....maybe!
gtguy 06-11-2001 09:40 PM

Wow Fred, keep it civlised, ace. Why does someone have to be a "complete ass?" That's a fellow i-Clubber and Scoob nut you're talking about.

But McLaren was faster than Ferrari for much of the season, though Schumacher did begin a tremendous run of successes, which coupled with bad mechanical luck for Hakkinen. That Indy blowup was critical, but keep in mind that Hak was reeling Schumi in like a fish before his car let go.

DC has impressed me this year. We even thought he was running super-heavy fuel which explained his pace, and that the safety car's appearance played right into his hands.

Look, Ralf beat Michael like a gong on Sunday. 'Nuff said. Of course Michael is human, which doesn't stop him from being the best driver in F1. He doesn't have the indisputably best car, as he did during the Benetton years, but he does have the best one on any given Sunday. The way the fast car has bounced around this year has been interesting.

When DC's car is working, he's fast as hell, as witnessed in the last race he won. He was flying, with heavy tanks! I don't think it's over yet, by any stretch of the imagination, but McLaren had better get those gremlins fixed in a hurry, so that DC can have a clean fight for the title.

Check out this noise:
war of words erupted over the Canadian Grand Prix weekend between BAR driver Jacques Villeneuve and Williams rookie, Juan Pablo Montoya. Villeneuve claims that during Friday's opening practice he was hit from behind by the Colombian, something that inadvertently caused his accident a few laps later, ruining the rest of his session. Speaking at a press conference after the event, the Canadian remarked that Montoya was on some sort of a mission and he didn't know why he was acting the way he was.

Montoya took offence to Jacques remarks and the two got into a heated war of words with each other that almost came to blows after Montoya stated, "You've already killed someone this season," referring to the accident during the opening laps of the Australian Grand Prix where the BAR collided with the Williams of Ralf Schumacher and a safety Marshall tragically lost his life when he was struck in the chest by flying debris.

The eventuating scuffle was broken up by FIA delegate Charlie Whiting and the duo were issued a warning that if it continued, they would both by dealt a two race suspension. Now, according to reports in the British press, Sir Frank Williams has also voiced his opinion on the matter and gave his driver a severe reprimand over the matter.

"Frank felt the comment was out of order and has given Juan a stern talking to," The Sun quoted a Williams source as saying. "He has made it perfectly clear he will not tolerate a repeat performance."

Just exactly what Sir Frank will do if it happens again is a matter for speculation, however with talk of Ralf's contract being renewed until 2005, there is still the matter of another driver waiting in the wings who didn't want to leave the outfit in the first place, namely Jenson Button.
Piss off Chili Dog! Vote Ralf/Button for Williams 2002!
J Colman 06-12-2001 06:16 AM

I just read this:
Williams star Juan Pablo Montoya will be axed if he gets involved in another slanging match with an F1 rival.

Montoya's drive is in jeopardy after a furious row with former Williams man Jacques Villeneuve. As the pair traded insults, the Colombian alleged told the BAR driver: "You've already killed someone this season."

The remark was a reference to Villeneuve's crash at Melbourne in March where a wheel from his car struck and killed a marshal.

Montoya's team boss, Frank Williams, believes the remark was out of order and has handed his driver an ultimatum.

A Williams insider told The Sun: "Frank felt the comment was out of order and has given Juan a stern talking to. He has made it perfectly clear he will not tolerate a repeat performance."

Although Montoya has been a big hit with F1 fans since arriving from ChampCars at the start of the season, he has made few friends in the paddock. Rumours are rife that he does not get on with team-mate Ralf Schumacher and Eddie Irvine and Michael Schumacher have both criticised his conduct.

Fred,
I am just playing Devils advocate with you, thats all. I have been an F1 fan for quite some time. When I lived in England I was a huge fan of Mansell and Hill. When Schumacher came into F1 I was blown away by how fast he fast he was for such a young driver. Ever since then he has been my favorite. I dont think the season is over by any stretch of the imagination, I am just pulling your leg. Heated discussion is fine with me, I am not remotely upset by anything said in these discussions, I know they are just fun. I think the worst thing that has happened to me is when Donjuan gave me a tard-face ;) :p

Justin
donjuan 06-12-2001 06:51 AM

What am I like the F1 moderator or something?? Throwing down my wrath with a tard-face for those who break the rules?? :)

That's funny :D

J Colman just likes to have a good talk about it, he's not trying to get on anyone's nerves. So he's a fan of the wrong Schumacher, no one is perfect. Fred Z too, though he seems to like Chili Dog :D

I think JPM really thought he was just going to waltz into F1 and win his first year. For some reason he thinks his natural talent can overcome his lack of work, his lack of cooperation with ANY of his team, and the fact that he is on an "emerging" team. I don't care how good you are, you have to have the car beneath you and the team behind you, or you're not going to win. I've never been a big JV fan, but I've never disliked him either, and saying "you've already killed someone" to a competitor like that is ridiculous. To me it's all about the math, JPM has taken himself out of 2 consecutive races (nearly 3) of 8, gotten in a near fist-fight with another driver, repeatedly slammed his teammate and team management, and depleted the team's chili-dog budget. On the upside he's completed one race and scored 6 points. I'm no mathematician...but if it were me, axe him now, pull a deal to get Button back (he's only on loan right?) or hell even put Gene in the game. Sure, JPM might evolve into something better, perhaps even a championship down the road, maybe getting axed would help to speed that process. I'm pretty intolerant of his kind of antics. Besides, Williams is on the verge of resigning their future champion anyway...
J Colman 06-12-2001 07:09 AM

Amen to that,
I think they will hold onto Pablo, unless his antics continue. He has talent, but he needs to buckle down and get on with business. I think Ralf is the budding star at Williams, and this is only the beginning of a fine racing career. I dont think Button will get his seat back that easy, I think he will move around and end up at another team. I think that Kimi will shake up some of the top teams in the next few years, he is proving that he has what it takes to drive for a top team. I also think that Verstappen will move to a better team in the near future.

I have spoken, all heed my word.

Justin :p
donjuan 06-12-2001 07:15 AM

Agreed about Kimi and especially about Jos. He can definately get it done. I honestly hope that JPM can produce what everyone thinks/thought he could, but he's off to a bad start. Growing up I think is the term.
Fred Zaplitny 06-12-2001 03:23 PM

You DID see my smiley face in there right guys? I was only joking. :D I know who the true F1 experts in here are and Justin is definitely one of them. Sorry if my humor got a little out of hand.

But DC will make a run of it I tell you! At least I hope so.
63Alpine 06-12-2001 04:14 PM

I don't see Button coming back to Williams. His perfomance this year has been lackluster at best. I see the Ralf/JPM match continuing. Unless of course Sir Frank gets his panties in a bunch over JPMs actions. Which I am enjoying the heck out of. He is playing the hot headed Columbian role to near perfection.
WeRX 06-12-2001 08:30 PM

Juantoya to blame for Bernoldi's retirement from the Canadian GP??

First all, I think I can be objective in the sense that I am a Finn, and a Hakkinen devotee. I also will readily admit that he will not be 2001 driver's champion.

That being said, it is Michael Schumacher's and Ferrari's championships to win or lose. Everyone else needs them to get unlucky to have any chance. He's the man. Ferrari has the most complete package.

Only Hakkinen has really been able to consistenly challenge him, and make good. This was during the years when Michael clearly had a slower car than Mika's

I told why Schumi will repeat, here are some notes on other drivers/car.

Barrichello - I wonder if Schumi owns a dog named Rubens in real life. He's basically Michael's b***h.

Hakkinen - Love him to death, but not his year. Is still a threat to win at any given moment. Interesting to see if he relishes a spoiler role.

Coulthard - Choker. Almost every year he says "I will be World Champion". I have the Autosports to prove it. Big words that never get backed up. I'm sorry, he just doesn't have "it"

R. Schumacher - I like him and the beautiful BMW-Williams he drives. He'll step up and take it all if his brother falters. BMW is proving again the superiority of German engineering, and it's great to see Sir Frank Williams is back in the act. That man is an immesurable part of what little soul that is left in F1.

Chili Dog - He's been fast at times, and would have won a race if not for Joss "the boss" Verstappen. He's really coming of as a jerk. What he said to Jaques Villeneuve was inexcusable. Next year - Jenson Button or maybe as hotly rumored in Helsinki, Mika Hakkinen. He's got an out clause on his contract after all.

Kimi - The heir apparent. Already a legend in Finland - Known as the "Wayne Gretzky of karting" there. Tremendous speed and poise. He'll get his ride soon, and sparks will fly. If not next year, the following.

My take on the F1 scene.

Later all and keep your Subies slideways!

Arik
