trying to get a feel. which color on silver?

ok im changing the look of my car to all silver body, no more carbon fiber. any ways i was wondering what does everybody think for rim color? right now i got my stock gunmetal which look good enough for the time being but i love goooooooold. im looking for a sleeper type look that one of the main reason im getting rid of all my cf. any suggestion or pics of silver w/ black, gold, silver, gunmetal, whatever would be greatly appreciaated.

This might help. These are the factory colored Volk GT-Cs in silver. They match the Subaru PSM perfectly. The lip is polished aluminum.

Im pretty partial to black or gunmetal colored wheels on silver .. although bronze isnt too bad.... but me personally, i think gold is a "no no" and the silver wheels on silver is kind of redundant, IMO

sorry the hood is already spoken for. im trading it for a rs hood since i wont be need the scoop anymore:banana: . after christmas ill probably be getting rid of my jdm projectors though (maybe sooner).
man i look at your guys cars and i take it not many of you take your cars off road. im not looking at getting expensive/ blingy wheels since there is a good chance they are going to be dinged up anyhow. im probably just be getting a few sets of 98-03 stockers depending on what kinda deals i can work out. i will be having them powdercoated thats why i ask the color question. thanks for everyones responses and pics keep em coming

don't get rid of your CF hood, just paint it. Best of both, apearance and light weight.
I also vote no for gold wheels on silver. Just a little too bling for a respectable car. I think bronze is the closest I'd go. Something darker might be nice.. Or you could try white maybe.

From one fellow silver owner to another, I can only give you my thoughts for my car and what I was going for: everything is either black or silver. With that, here's a shot of my winter wheels which are nothing more than a set of stock wheels painted black with a "silver" lip. I also painted the little pieces in between the side mirrors. Just what I like, so your preference may differ as well. I prefer black or gunmetal wheels with a silver lip.

I want to do the side mirror filler pieces as well. It looks good on all of the WRXs that I've seen -especially white.
Can you give me some details on the painting of the stock wheels (masking techniques, etc.)? They look really good like that. I'm putting the stockers back on here in a few days. Maybe that'll become my summer project.
As for my wheels, I lucked out -they were on the car when I bought it. I'm not a huge fan of them, because they are more "blingy" than I'd like, plus, for 18s, they are pretty heavy. I'd like to swap them for a set of 17" SSRs.

I actually didn't do them myself - i just swapped stockers with a guy who DID paint them who didn't really like the look all that much. My tires were shot, so we swapped + some cash. He can give you a good idea on what was entailed. PM Roamin'Coyote for tips! (They look awesome, IMO!)

i vote gunmetal rims with a polished lip. know you dont wanna go too expensive but something like the ssr comps (maybe the 16's if they're track wheels?) Really goes well with the silver car.

i think im going to stick with gunmetal rollers for my street rims and either black or gold for my track rims. both sets are going to be stock rims. wether it be wrx, old 2.5 rs or legacy mesh rims i dont know yet it just depends on what i can get my hands on. anyways thanks guys for your pics and insight on the topic. if anyone has some pics of a bug eye with the legacy wheels can you please post it or direct me to it.

If you are going for the sleeper look I would get something that blends with the rest of the car, that way it doesn't stand out.
