Urgent Help : Fitting 05 Sti Spoiler On 02 Wrx

My friend who is constantly obsessed with replacing his 02 wing with an 05 sti wing has gone on holidays for four days and as a birthday present ive decided to fit an sti wing on his car as he has left me his keys to keep an eye on the car. The wing is sprayed but just need to fit it without causing any damage and the instructions are so vague. Can anyone help possibly visually or anyway possible. Thanks Alot

Where are you located? It might benefit you to post in your regional forum and see if there are some experienced locals who could come by and help you out.

omg, this is one of those times when you really should take it to a body shop, or someone qualified to install it.

+1. where are the instructions you are using? you've got to measure a billion times because it involves drilling...

heres an easy way of making the holes, I take icecream sticks or any sticks that are long enough flat and sturdy, sometime icecream sticks are to short so I have to cut strips from 1/8" ply wood, if you can find super hard card board that would also work. next drill a hole in each of the sticks, align the hole of the stick to a hole in the wing and tape them down with scotch tape. leave the ends of the sticks extending beyond the wing. when you are done place the wing on the trunk and get it in postion becareful not to move any of the sticks. it helps to have an extra person to help you. now take strong packing tape and tape the ends of the sticks to the trunk or part of the car that you can tape them to make sure you tape them down good
then get a few people to hold the sticks down as you pull the wing off, the scotch tape will give and the wing will come off leaving the sticks with the holes taped to the trunk, now just use the holes in the stick as a template to drill the holes

wow...what a dick.
the install isn't hard -- just take your time and measure carefully before you drill. the method listed one post above me is pretty good.
another approach is to dab some permatex on the bottom of the wing studs before you set it on the decklid.
g'luck!

Car look sharp. Kinda makes me wish I'd gotten the yellow wrx (instead of mbp) they had back when I bought mine. Unfortunately it had a couple hundred miles and was a wagon. It would have matched my yellow bronco and yellow crx nicely :(
