Wagon plastic molding snaps

RESOLVED: See below
Does anybody have any diagrams that show the exterior part #'s for an 02 wagon? There's this plastic molding piece that is right behind the rear passenger windows. Check out this wagon: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136817&page=2&highlight=wagon
You can see the black plastic pieces right behind the rear passenger windows.
They are held in by a few blue plastic snaps and latches on somehow to make it really secure. I believe one of my blue snaps dosn't hold anymore and I was wondering what the part number is. If anyone knows the part number or has a diagram, please let me know!
Thanks!

Autozone will have replacement clips. Check them out. If needed, you can try subaruparts.com. I believe they have parts diagrams on there. Good luck!

Try:

Look at OEM parts, enter year, model, etc., etc...you'll find the number.

Please report back, I have the same problem on my 2005 9-2X, one day when I was filling up at the gas station, I was like WTF, why is that piece sticking out so much. The piece wasn't clipped in in one of the holes. I banged it into place and it's been good for now, but it's still looser than the driver's side.

I went to those two sites and no dice. subaruparts.com only has accessories. Although, i did request a quote for the part. I also did a thorough search on 1stsubaruparts.com and couldn't find it there either. I also requested a quote from them too. I will probably end up going to the dealer and asking them for one. I'll also ask for the part number and reply w/it in case anyone else wants to know.

If you register for subaruparts.com, then you can use the Parts Lookup at the top of the page for Impreza. Go to Sealing & Trim and you should be able to find what you are looking for. I used to have an 04 wagon, and I thought that this part was held in place by screws under the weatherstripping, but my memory is fading.

You are referring to the black molding
seen to the back of the rear pass windows yeah?
IF so....
that outer retainer/molding assy is held on by screws and a few clips.
the tapping screws screw into a white tapping screw retainer
and
there are also 4 clips which help secure the unit.
these clips are yellow in color
I see no blue clips anywhere??
If you need diagrams or parts information
feel free to contact me.

You were right, Subaruparts does have OEM parts and diagrams. I had a profile setup, but couldn't find the link (not easily navigated). After I requested a quote from them, one of the employees replyed to my email and sent me a link. I'm still not sure of the part # though.
Jamie, maybe on your wagon it's different. But I gaurantee you that it is partially held in place by blue snaps/clips (whatever you want to call them). There are two of them in there. I'll take some pics of them tonight and post them up.
I will probably go to the dealer tomorrow during lunch with the snap/clip in hand.
Thanks everyone for your input.

Hey guys,
So I went to the dealer and they didn't know what part number the clip was, so I took some pics and here they are:

Hopefully one of you guys knows what part number that is.
Does anyone know if those stores mentioned above allow returns on parts? The dealership that I went to didn't allow returns, otherwise I would have tried a couple different clips and just returned the ones that didn't work.

Here we go:
Pic 1: shows the plastic molding that I'm talking about.

It's held in place by 2 blue clips that I can see and something else. You mentioned possibly a couple screws. I don't know how to get to them, so I just pull it back a bit and it's just enough to pull the blue clip out (which is how I took the pics above).
Pic 2: Shows how it is normally in a 'poped-out' state.

Pic 3: Shows how it is normally in a 'poped-out' state at a greater angle.

Pic 4: By applying pulling on the molding a little bit, you can see it a little better and pull it out with a little effort.

I hope these pictures suffice. If only the Subaru parts diagrams were clearer, I wouldn't have to go through all of this!
Any idea what part # that is Jamie? Anyone else???

Does anyone know if this might be part # W130066 or W130065 listed on this page: http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?model=5A&year=2002&style=WRX&body=wagon&scn=9&category=901-1 (you need a Subaruparts account to look at the pic). It bugs me every time I walk by and see it popped out...
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have the same problem, every couple of fillups, I usually see it popped out and I just slap it and its good for another couple hundred miles.
| K.Linchpin | 06-18-2007 09:12 PM |
Oh, you're lucky then... hehe. I have to bump it every day pretty much (more so in the summer). ... I have an associate from Subaruparts.com on top of things. If the part number he gives me is right and the part fits, I'll post the part # on here for everyone. It'll make everyone's day I'm sure.
| K.Linchpin | 08-05-2007 01:15 PM |
Thought I'd fill anyone that had this problem in on the part number they need.
It's 909130114 and can be bought from subaruparts.com. They're $1.99 each and are yellow now.

^ Thanks for the part number, I will order one up. How easy is it to replace? Do I have to take off the molding or simply there is enough wiggle room if I unclip it near the edge where my clip really isn't holding it?

Do they not work for you? I cant view them myself since I'm at work. My work blocks pictures that are hosted by PhotoBucket.

They are easy to get to. at least the one on the bottom (there are 2). the best way to get the one on the bottom out is to first pop the top one out of it's hole by sneaking a flathead screw driver up there and prying it out. then using one hand to hold the molding out a bit, you can see how the snap is held in place. you don't need a screw driver to pop it out. It slides out with enough force. You'll see once you pop the top one out of place what I'm talking about.
