I was thinking about picking up a set theres a whole bunch on E bay do they really work how do they look on the impreza front?
| kidatari | 07-18-2003 05:25 AM |
I think they're really a ricecessory. I have yet to see canards that look good on any bodystyle impreza. And the fact that they do nothing doesn't really help

Not really a big fan of the cannards.

Canards are useless and they usually make the car look worse, unless the whole look of the car has the "canardable" look to it.. which would basically be on a crazy R32 skyline or something to that nature...

he was the captin of teh Enterprise...wasn't he?
seriously...they are just for looks unless you spend money on real ones. on fast, 70+ mph, road courses, the canards will add down force to the nose of your car, but that's only if they are tied into structure and are designed properly...anything you see on a replacement bumper is just for looks.

I just used translucent vinyl and wrapped the Impreza plastic fog light protection covers. I think you can get them from Irvine Subaru for about $35. (.....obviously the blue is just for show use, I pop off the covers when driving)

I wouldn't put them on my car, because I don't think they really work.
But it's all you:D
But it's all you:D

actually if you find yourself in the 80mph+ area on the expressway, i bet they will make a difference in the front
downforce as i could feel the car gluing onto the pavement
at high speeds when i added the sti v2 lip. this was not
achieved with the usdm lip. (btw, my car is lowered with
TEIN's about 2.2 inches)
i might consider getting one not for looks but for
fuctionality if i was going to take my car to the track. for normal
driving, i think its a cosmetic addition, but it's your car. if you have the right body kit and style, they should compliment the total look of the car. :)

| kenchan | 07-19-2003 01:40 PM |

Do you garage that thing!?

Killer show car!! Really, its sweet.
But do you take that beast to work? and get groceries? Out to the movies?
Cause all I see happening is some punk kid coming up to your lonely car and ripping them right off or bending them with his leg as he walks too close. And everyone walks too damn close to the car damn it!
Asking for damage if you use that as your daily.
Great looker though!!
Later.

Thanks for the compliments, ...Yes, the car stays garaged most of the time. I do drive it to and form work and home, but only on nice days, ...most weekends too if it's not at a show. But your right, I never take it to the movies or out where it might get damaged (accidentally or purposly).
