What front lip to get??!!
Guys,
I can't decide which front lip to get. I am going with the OEM sides and rear pieces, but I think the OEM front lip is a little too plain. I want something that does not hang down real low, because I am going to lower my WRX and I my driveway is really steep. Any suggestions of what front lip to get? Preferably one that doesn't sit really low on the car.
Thanks,
Chris

I just got the OEM replica from ProCarParts.com and it looks a lot better than I thought it would.... I really like it a lot. My suggestion would be the OEM

Kickz107, since you have the OEM sides (with the spats, right? they looks sweet!) and the rear why don't U get the front too? I know, I know the sti V1 or V2 etc looks cool too but they just too big and low for the size without lowerin your rex, and you will gets your front scratch by some parking curbs or your steep drive way eventually. And I suggest you to NOT go with the OEM replica although you would save some $$$ on the parts but they're not painted like the OEM ones and they're not made of ulthane (spelling?) Fibereglass and other material made body kit tends to be less fixible on impact. Besides with the $$$ to paint the replica you ended up not saving much. The OEM front may look a little plain but it would definitly bring a unique sharp out of the front of your rex. Own a set of OEM front lip, pretty satisify with the quality and all, never scratch anything except for the lower piece (there's 3 pieces) on REALLY depth driveway, Well, you can only sees the scratchs while the car is in air. Anywayz hope that help on making your choice on the lips. ;)

Sounds like you want the UK300 lip. It lines up perfectly with the stock sideskirts, and doesnt hang down low at all. But it makes enough of a change in looks to make it worthwhile.

Any pics of the UK300 lip?

I got all 3 pieces of the front lip, sideskirts, and morettes painted to match for $150 professionally by one of the body shop that a local subie dealership uses. Plus I only paid $103 for the front lip off an auction on ebay from ProCarParts so its not like it was a big investment.

Greddy front lip
I got Greddy front lip. It sure looks very good, but it's a pain to drive it around. I scrap the bottom ALL THE TIME! And my car is NOT lowered!
That makes me to think twice when I go somewhere. I need to think where I can go in and be able to get out clean......
I would spend the money somewhere else.....
But that's just me.

See. I preach and I preach all day long. Subtle cues a good car make.
:p
Seriously, though. I like this real subtle look. Thats what I'm going to be heading toward. Of course, I want a spoiler/wing in the back, though. Something useful, though, and not just for show. That front lip is nice. I wouldn't mind seeing a little more detail. But this is real nice.

 Thanks, Yoda. I agree with you. The wild kits are just too much for me, and I think they'll look embarrassing 10 years from now. I like the Ver. 1 lip the best, but that UK300 is great as well.
Does this have gravel rally suspension on it or what? dang!

yah, i was looking at various lips (Greddy, zerosports) when
i was trying to decide, but considering that my car is lowered
and i drive pretty hard in the streets, i went with the factory
lip. the clearance is quite good, craftmanship was good too.
plus, pre-painted and readily available at the local dealer. :D
the 2003 lips are a tad different than the 2002's based on
the pictures i see in their catalog.

The Prodrive "WR Aero" lip (aka "UK300 lip") is urethane and comes unpainted as a beige/raw color.
SPI Motorsports might part theirs out, but "in theory" the kit is wind tunnel tested to be used together (wing + lip). There were 2 lengthy and unbelievably ambiguous threads about the downforce of this lip when used with the OEM spoiler as compared to the UK300 lip with the UK300 wing. That was about a year ago.
I have it. I have no UK300 wing. I have no OEM rear spoiler. All I can say is that I change lanes at 85MPH and the car is not upset in any way. If you intend to take sweeper turns at 85MPH or something, you should probably be looking into proper aero kits (such as the full UK300 kit) for your car or leaving it alone.
EDIT: I will however point out that there is a reason the STi I and II Version 7 lips (not the Subaru OEM one per se) have the middle section cut out and do not have a "lip" that creates downforce so to speak, and that's to keep near-stock aerodynamics I'll bet ya.

Do you know where this thread you mentioned might be? (I just spent about an hour searching but with no luck) I have a 2003 WRX with no rear spoiler (like you :) and want to research this before I pony up the dough on the excellent looking Prodrive UK300 front spoiler/lip. You mentioned that at above 85 in turns that the lip might effect the downforce dynamics of the car. I agree that this might be bad...
Any input would help! Thanks!

good luck finding this lip separtely as you will be shelling out almost $500 for this!....yet i can not find a replica nor a dealer who is willing to sell for at least $300, if anyone does please please! send a PM my way :D im almost tempted to get this lip for the $500 price tag that it suggest.... its clean, killer, but silent and deadly at the same time, which is an A++++ to me.....there are many vendors who are selling it seprately yet not at the price you'd expect...:furious:

Agreed... It is a little more $$$ than I would have hope for, but damn does it look good.... The MonkeySpecWRX is going to be a total sleeper with subtle hints of what it can do... This would be one of the hints... LOL...

So I finally found it... After reading the aerodynamic tests that prodrive did I'm not as thilled about getting the Prodrive front lip all by itself... Read it here. Cornering at 100+ could be potentially bad news... :( Decisions decisions...
