whats the best aftermarket spoiler?
I am searching for a spoiler. What do you guys think is the best looking spoiler out for the wrx>?
| Pochebum | 06-27-2002 03:33 AM |
That's a complete matter of opinion and differs from person to person. I personally believe that if you want a smaller wing go for the shine street wing. I think it looks sick. Larger I'd say 22b replica. I just think it goes really well with the car.

I was very undecisive about what spoiler I wanted to buy.
It was either this one, or the first one in this thread. I bought this one last week because I got for $420 painted WRB shipped.
Also, the main reason I decided not to go with the first spoiler in this thread is because I was driving around town last week before I ordered any spoiler, and I saw the new NEON spoilers. They are basically the EXACT same thing as the Shine Street wing. Its sickening

Those wings look sweet. That first one is cool but if they look like the ones on the neon i would stay away...
| krave | 06-27-2002 11:29 AM |
if i had a choice i would pick up that nice carbon fiber sti wing
| midnightblack02 | 06-27-2002 02:11 PM |
Im with krave on this one, ESPECIALLY if you have a black WRX, that would look slick. The CF STi wing is functional and very aesthetically pleasing
| [email protected] | 06-27-2002 03:14 PM |
STI wing is prolly the best, But I think most of us can agree that the price is just sickening.
| djrocker666 | 06-27-2002 07:51 PM |
with the second wing did you have to drill new hole's..or did they fit into the ones from the stock?..
| industrial | 06-27-2002 08:10 PM |
1. Sti Carbon Fiber Wing...$1300 worth of downforce, looks great & functional
2. Arospeed Knockoff of the Sti Wing...$400 worth of downforce but havn't seen it on a rex yet and doubt it'll fit stock holes.
3. German Spec Trunk Spoiler...$375 worth of lift reduction <---Hope to have it soon. :)
I really don't like super-spoilers but that's just me. To most people's (Cops, normal folks, nascar fans) keen perception, a super-spoiler turns our upscalish car into another modded Honda. Just my 2¢.

Bernard

STi carbon far and away
you can't beat any of the STi stuff for classy, functional, perfectly made parts

Im all about the WRC replica wings. I just think they look sweet they way they hang off the back of the trunk.

It's kinda cool how after I read all the replies to this thread, I figured something out. There is no best spoiler, everyone likes something different than the next guy:) .
I like the wing I bought, Industrial thinks its rice (I think?).
I don't like GT wings to much, but all the hoopla about the STI wing made me like it because everyone else does (maybe because it's so much $$).
I guess the answer to this thread is that there is no best spoiler. I think WRXMaster needs to look into a mirror, and ask the guy looking at him, "so what spoiler do you like best?"
:D

RB5 wing... damn best looking! not sure if they have a version that might fit a WRX..but they look soo good on the GC8! must get it.:)

IMO first the STI cf wing, then the 22b replica wing.

Well if it's functional it's not "rice". I kinda do like the WRC spoiler that hangs off the trunk lid. I may get one once my car becomes my weekend toy several years from now.

100% correct. I'll just add that spoilers and wings serve different functions. Wings usually add downforce at > 100 mph if they are functional. All a good spoiler should do is reduce lift at > 80mph. Be careful with adding too much downforce in the back without compensating in front if you like to drive fast.

Bernard

Any comments on the kaminari WRX Wing ?
I was thinking of getting that one...Looks pretty cool...not too rice...
I like the 22b but what I don't like about it is the thickness of the base..all the way across the trunk.
