WRC rally car parts

Does anyone know where I can find a list of parts that are on the WRC rally car that like Petter drives? I want to get my car as close to their car as possiable.

Not just look like one on the outside, I am talking about on the inside. Shocks, brakes, you know things like that. Basically make the car stronger, and there for closer to a rally car.

If you're going to impersonate a rally car, it would be much cheaper to impersonate one of the ProRally non-open classes :)

Yeah I guess, I just want to get the car stronger, I am in the midatlantic and there are a lot of pot holes around here. I figure if a car can hold up on a rally, why can't my car deal with potholes.:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Unless you have 18" wheels or something, you should be fine... (yes.. the roads suck in the Mid-A, particularly in SE PA). It sounds like all you want is suspension stuff, but really there's no reason your stock stuff can't handle daily driving.

-though DMS struts would probably allow you to take potholes at speed...provided you have a full sized spare or two on board.

Sounds to me that you need an Engineering degree or $700,000! Some Prodrive Active Suspension coming out in 2004 would be nice too!

... and that's for a year or two old WRC car. The brand new ones are more like $10 million... but those are near impossible (if not impossible) to buy.

I think the new ImprezaWRC is a little closer to 1 to 1.5million tops. and I know that a set of 4 ohllins(sp?) struts witch are on the WRC car are about 10grand. If you can afford it get Rallispec to seamweld and put in a full cage, and you car will be plenty strong.

Are they still useing the ohllins?? Is the new set up threw them? They said something about a new set up on speed.... but I wasnt realy paying attention.

The first thing you can do more or less for free is to strip every single thing off the car's body and seam weld it. Then you can start adding 40 metres of cho-mo tubing for a cage. After that you can start adding the parts. :)

The WRC car this year uses dampers from Sachs. I don't know how much they are. It used to be they sold off the former WRC cars for a fixed price around $300k no matter what condition that was in. That may or may not include the transmission however, which of all the components on the WRC car is likely the most expensive.

That might be the cost of parts alone, I don't know. Can you install and configure a sequential 6-speed gearbox, or their suspension parts which have oodles and oodles of adjustment settings?

Seriously though, if you want your car to be tougher, people seem to love the DMS 50's coilover suspension. It runs a couple thousand dollars I think? Don't quote me on that, but it's tough enough for real rally duty, probably overkill for your car. Then maybe get another set of wheels and tires?
If you haven't already got them, performance tires alone will really improve the feel of an otherwise stock car.

i use my car for rally-x, working rallies and driving like an idiot alot.
trust me your car can handle it.
play with the susp a bit more. A set of STi struts and springs will do wonders if money is an issue.
