can you post a link of the ebay knock off
I am at work now so i am not able to get to ebay now.. but if you go into ebay and just do a search for parts and accessories for a subaru wrx you will see them.. they are priced at about 10 bucks plus shipping (which is always more expansive than the product).. but as soon as i get access i will post it

jack klompus 07-17-2007 02:12 PM

glowshift has good stuff. But dont get a A/F that isnt a wideband, its useless.
M3GTR 07-17-2007 02:14 PM

What are you talking about? its a sweet light show!
jack klompus 07-17-2007 03:33 PM

I guess.
Cky47 07-18-2007 12:26 PM

Those ones I just posted are from glowshift... I think they look pretty sweet.
Uber-Charged 07-18-2007 03:19 PM

is glowshift any good at all? they seem to cheap to be true
Qbanz 07-18-2007 03:22 PM

I have only had them for a few days but so far so good... they seem pretty solid... no complaints for the price i paid you cant beat it... i would rather spend my money on engine mods...

the glow shift setup doesnt fix very good at all. there gauges are alright but the housing sucks. i tossed out all there stuff after i bought the defi housing and autometer gauges with look a million times better
IIdiceII 07-20-2007 03:17 PM

i want that wideband!

I just switch from an autometer dual pod to oem modded tripple clock pod.

ill get pics up soon.

prosport gauges, lotek a-pillar, and homemade steering column cluster (made from gloshift a pillar since the fitment sucked)

for the money prosport guages are great
ScoobyBlack 07-23-2007 08:34 PM

I'm rocking Glowshift gauges in the a three gauge clock pod (Boost/Oil Pressure/AFR). Personally, I could not be more satisfied. For the price, they are excellent; they seem very accurate and are quite visible in both daylight and at night. I would suggest NOT getting their tinted gauges though, as they're quite hard to see.

If you're on a budget, they're a great bang for the buck.
Cky47 07-23-2007 09:11 PM

I dont know... look at my pic, if your dash is freshly cleaned and you mount it right, they look decent.

Though mountingthem is a bish. They give oyu two mount screws and it takes for two get it down. Plus the holes arent there for you... you have ot make them.
Heres mine... Ebay set up complete. Autometer knock-off.. white face gauges, and glow shift gauges... weekend project due to extreme heat couldnt take it. other wise would have taken about 5 to 6 hours

no complaints about it so far... complete setup under 100 dollars..
I posted a pic on this a while back, I totally support the Glowshift Gauges had them almost a year now and no issues. I had their center 3 gauge clock pod with the GS gauges and there were a little tough to see because the angle and the housings are deep. So I took out the clock pod and mounted 3 single pods on the stock clock piece. Came out very nice and can see the gauges at the slightest glance.
LewisWORX 07-29-2007 03:12 AM

I have glowshift oil pressure (which I needed a relocator kit from www.wrxtra.com to make work), egt (which the probe broke but they warrantied it), and boost gauge. I have to say that they work very well, even the egt probe (except right when it broke). They are very accurate (as I have logged vaules and compared them). I don't understand getting the afr gauge though..its narrow band and it says on the website. I have an innovate afr gauge as well.

Yeah, getting it all mounted in was kind of a pain. I have the same setup; the center console pod. I have no compaints though; for the price the setup is pretty damn nice. The pod looks pretty good there too; if you pain it so it isn't so glossy it looks as if it was meant to be there.
2mprzya 07-30-2007 06:19 PM

szeny... nice setup man... looks sooo good.
ScoobaSTieve 07-30-2007 06:24 PM

WTH do people offset their bezel gauges... looks sloppy. No factory gauge would be tilted like that. STRAIGHTEN UP PPL!!!
WTH do people offset their bezel gauges... looks sloppy. No factory gauge would be tilted like that. STRAIGHTEN UP PPL!!!
Might be so that he can easily tell if something is off, since the boost gauge would be pointing vertical at full boost for stage 2. This way he can tell at a glance if he is not hitting full boost or has overboosted, rather than having to read the numbers.
ScoobaSTieve 07-31-2007 07:17 AM

Oh, that's right, I forgot that the unfalible Defi's don't change color like the Nexus do when there is an overboost or high EGT alert. Hmm.....

Not like you can't see them completely clearly through the steering wheel anyway. C'mon!!! Admit it, you wear your hat sideways too!!!

Ugh I'm fairly certain that many do this to make monitoring gauges at the track or what not easy. Oh and btw Defi also has a pod that is fairly bright and can be used to show warning on any gauge. Both Autometer Nexus and Defi's are nice setups, and both are way too expensive (I've got some on the way)

True, Defi gauges are not infallible, but I have seen a lot of cars mount their gauges like that for quick reading. The point isn't that you can't see them, it's that reading them takes longer if you can't just glance at the needle position to see if it's vertical. There are warning lights on the Defis, but what about if you are underboosting? Do your gauges have a light to tell you that? I didn't think so...

LastResort 07-31-2007 08:07 PM

That's not what he is saying. Clocked gages easily indicate any reading other than normal are apparent because the needle is not straight up.

Easy to wire the gauges from that location?

No self respecting pro driver has their gauges straight, it's done so the needles are pointing straight up.

Common knowledge for anyone with a pit background.

I was planning on doing just that. But, I haven't had the car to the track since the new gauges, yet. Once I see where the "norm" is, I'll rotate the gauges so I can tell at a glance that things are OK.
WTH do people offset their bezel gauges... looks sloppy. No factory gauge would be tilted like that. STRAIGHTEN UP PPL!!!
Form follows function when people do that.

In the middle of a race, the most you will get will be a quick glance. Drivers set their gauges so that, when the gauge reads whatever "normal" will be, the needle will be pointing up.

So..quick glance, all gauges are pointing north, and the driver can continue their pwnage. It's much easier to decipher than trying to rear the gauges by the numbers, one at a time. More time is spent with the eyes on the road, where they belong.
ScoobaSTieve 08-09-2007 02:03 AM

Wow.... I think Mario Andretti would be proud. Wait... is he in this forum? I guess I forgot that not everyone is running 20psi of boost. That's why they are all turned out. Oh, and what's the difference between looking at a needle pointing up, or a needle pointing to the side? If you know where it should be, your brain will (should) train itself for what to look for. Still seems pretty ghetto to have them all "pimp leaned out" and junk.
flatbox 08-09-2007 02:23 AM

At least it's not rice being all straight up and down.
flatbox 08-09-2007 02:26 AM

Pimp and ghetto in the same sentence is only used by a white man by the way. Don't hate because you don't understand the culture. Educate yourself.

It seems ignorant to drive a car like a STi on the street when the speed limit is 60. Don't judge others.
sleepyfu 08-09-2007 03:55 AM
WTH do people offset their bezel gauges... looks sloppy. No factory gauge would be tilted like that. STRAIGHTEN UP PPL!!!
when the gauges are off to the side on those bezels, it's natural to have them slightly tilted, it's easy on the eyes while in driver's position. but of course not so easy for the camera or show when everything is standing still. such as those super bright LED on some of those gauges looks cool, but I have no clue how people drive at night with them things shining in the face. BMW, Audi, STi, and others have red gauge lights, because at night, red light has the least effect of your ability to see the roads.
LastResort 08-09-2007 09:19 AM
That's why they are all turned out. Oh, and what's the difference between looking at a needle pointing up, or a needle pointing to the side?
This appears to be to complicated of a concept for you. Please return to your GI Joes.
fastwrx 08-09-2007 09:42 AM

Fun with math:

If it takes you 1 second per gauge to actually READ the value indicated by the needle, and you have 3 gauges, at 120 mph you will have travelled 176 yards (120 mph = 58 yds/sec). Almost 2 football fields will have passed without your eyes on the road, where they should be. A lot of "stuff" can happen in that time and distance.

THAT'S why performance drivers make it EASY and QUICK to find that their gauges are reading within normal parameters by rotating them to all point straight up when in that range. Instead of 3 seconds, it takes a fraction of a second.

When you're on the track at triple-digit speeds, esthetics are a VERY low priority. Everything is done with function and efficiency in mind.

If all you do is cruise the boulevard ('cause I KNOW you're not street racing), then line up the gauges nice and pretty.

Hahahaha....my favorite one was the guy who said not to judge, then says to educate myself. ROFL... you are a true credit to your "people". BTW, I race autocross, and it doesn't make a hill of beans what direction my gauges are pointed because I don't have ANY time to look at them. So I record the run and download it to my laptop after the races. So to the guy that said "no self respecting racer... blah blah blah" your argument is narrow and busted. BTW, I don't drive my STi at 60. And I am white... and I don't hate you... but don't pretend to understand my culture either, as if this conversation had anything to do with race.

You are not a racer. Why do you even have gauges at all? You don't look at them. Your sentence structure is that of a 8th grader. Why would you think you do not need education? This is the internet and you can type how you want? Wrong, anytime you are speaking to someone you do not know, it's not acceptable. Anyone that did go higher than 8th grade would know this.
