Well, it is not my concern and your car. You say it is a show car and I was right about "all show and no go". I just made a true statement not hating.
Maybe negative comments put some sense into you and for others in the future.
It is just sad how people (young guys) choose that cool slammed, flush look and don't care how they make their ride under performed in most important part of the car.
In some cases form>function is understandable but this kind of form is just wrong. Me and other people who thinks same way are just pointing it out, not hating.
Good job with shaving and let's get on topic.
So who are you to say my form is wrong. What's so wrong about it? Because im slammed. My car is still probably faster than your stock Wrx so gtfo. And how is it all show and no go. So 350whp on a stock block Wrx is no go and soon to be 400whp on again a stock block ej205. Your on drugs.
You can do what you want with your car and if you start paying for mine I'll do what you want to it. Until then just ****. If all you have is bad things to say in here find your way the fuh out. None of these cars in here are rally cars im sure. We mod how we want and will continue to do so. And I like how you think im some kid. Yes im only 25yr but im married with 2 kids, 3 cars and our own house. So buh by

I never said your form is wrong.
In your case; form is more important than how your car functions. All show and no go is not an opinion, it is a fact for you.
No need to get mad and calling out "f this f that".

So how is all show and no go a fact? My car isn't stock and has lots of go compared to alot of other cars. If im not mistaken a stock Wrx makes 170whp or so so im making almost 200whp more than stock and will be making 230whp more than stock next month. Hmmm your right no go at all

Just straighten the wheels up and i am pretty sure everyone for the most part will love the car. You will always have haters.
We have a lot of cars down here in Texas with these slanted wheels. I must have missed that memo. To me its just a cheap way to get a lower ride without spending the money for real suspension but then again let me state my theory might be wrong. I am not here for a argument.
But lets also face the fact as a group people this is a engine bay thread.. Lets let the stance of "any" car get torn up in another thread.

Lol exactly its a bay thread.
And as for the camber (slanted wheels) if your being serious we do this to fit our wheels not be lower. If you try to do our height with wheels that fit it stock wheels the offset isn't low enough to be far enough away from the coil to not hit. Most guys that do this btw have alot more invested in good name brand suspension parts than most people

You do understand that a lot of racecars are lowered and they have these "slanted wheels" to improve handling?
I also love how people think that when you buy a car, it needs to be used how they would use it or its worthless to everyone. You're buying a Subaru, it's not a racecar, a showcar, a rallycar, etc until you make it one. If I want to make my STi a boat I could. Care what YOU do to your car, don't be so ignorant and close minded to what everyone else is doing.
I'm lost as why some people take offense and get upset when they see something different.

See, this is the biggest problem. He actually thinks it improves to lower your car as far as you can and max camber you can get.
It is true that lower is better but it isn't that easy. You have to fix so many things to regain your suspension geometry to be that low.
Putting coilovers and lowering it to max is the easiest part of it. The rest you don't even wanna know and I am sure you don't care anyway.
Here is a pic of the tubs I am working on. I had to modify them because at max caster there wasn't enough room for the tire at full suspension travel.
Looks ugly but I chose to run max caster than having nice arches.

Those are trailer fenders. They come as one half circle piece and you can make both tubs with one of them.
The one I used had 32" diameter.
Not sure where you can find them in States but places like harbour freight should carry it.

This is my car. I just went down to my local tractor supply and bought trailer fenders. You only need one, cut it in half and start fitting. I was nervous going into it but since there was no bending or shaping using the fenders it made it quite easy.
I do admit i am building my car for street purposes and really wont see much, if any, track time. I will be running stretched tires and all that jazz but having the car solid and stiff in the twists is a must. Serkan is building his car for purpose so what he is doing to his bay is way more boss then what i have planned for mine. Keep up that great work serkan! Can't wait to see her all finished up!

I'm not sure the dimensions but I trimmed a great deal off anyways. Just measure the width of the strut towers and buy some slightly bigger and be ready to cut some off

Looks good bro. I'll be honest though imho I wouldn't have welded the strut brace like that just incase you want a different one someday or don't want it there someday. You never know. But on the other hand its a badass idea and looks clean. Never seen it done like that before. So good job to you for being original
Those are trailer fenders. They come as one half circle piece and you can make both tubs with one of them.
The one I used had 32" diameter.
Not sure where you can find them in States but places like harbour freight should carry it.

Walked by these at northern tools this weekend. So they do stock them in stores for those whom may want to know.

So when I first started this project, I extended the wiring harness around the FRONT (not rear through the firewall) and relocated the fuse box to the front quarterpanel... and I have to say, just in terms of cleanliness and ease in routing wiring, it would have been way better to relocate and reroute everything through the firewall! Ugh. I feel like rerouting everything to clean things up.

What type of body filler do you guys use to prevent cracking.
| ScoobyJD | 04-12-2014 10:17 PM |
Allmetal for heavy filling
http://www.eastwood.com/usc-all-metal-2-1-lb.html
Then you can use regular bondo for the light areas.
You can view how to videos on youtube for all metal and bondo.

Also to add, on the side panels I am doing two welded patch panels. One on engine bay side and one on wheel well side, not everyone will do this. I however did not want to take any chances since the metal is super thin through that area.
| under0athh51189 | 04-14-2014 09:10 PM |
I just used 3m body filler. My bondo was so thin it didn't matter. Its been like 5months now and its still good to go.

I have begrudgingly accepted that I'm keeping A/C until this is no longer my daily driver :( Those A/C lines really take up a lot of ugly room!

If I still lived back in the Pacific Northwest I wouldn't care, but here in Virginia it's humid as bawls... but I suppose it still gets at least a little humid up where you are.

That looks great.
Make sure your tires are not hitting the outside corner when fully turned. I am sure you already checked it but don't forget that your car will sit lower once the engine and tranny are installed. Take that into consideration if you haven't. ;)
