I pulled my engine connectors/wires from their existing sheathing and back into the cabin.
Then I made the hole under the brake booster larger and ran them through there and plugged them in behind the engine down near the starter.

Shaved, wire tucked, and custom engine bays?

Ahhh, that makes sense. I was wondering what you guys did with those huge plugs lol. I just swapped my impreza and had to run those black and brown plugs through the fender.
I was standing there thinking "where the hell do those guys with shaved bays hide these things???".
Is there anyone making a tuck harness. I know a ton of people do for the Hondas
I think Chase either offers one or wants to offer one. I talked to him a while back and he needed a donor car. Unfortunately my car is too heavily modified to represent the typical Subaru. I'll be making my own harness. I usually get my stuff from Waytek.

any tips on how to nicely split off wires from the bulk for sensors?

Take all the factory loom and tape off. Then run the harness to all the sensors. U will see how it lays out and just modify as needed. I haven't had to re loom it so I can't tell u how much of a pain it is.

Doing a dry fit outside my car to make sure I have everything and it all connects properly, and I have a couple questions regarding my case bays brake line relocation. I'm keeping my factory brake booster, just deleting abs. I have 7 lines as pictured in the installation guide, but I noticed a couple differences. First, they mention line o, with a chasebays sleeve on it. Don't have it, concerning. Second, they show two black t fittings, I only have one. Third, I have fittings not shown in the directions, and I'm missing a couple. The instructions are for a brake booster eliminator and they don't have instructions for keeping oem booster. Could this be part of my problem? I'm a little concerned I just spent the money for a setup that shouldn't be too complex, and I have to spend more or find alternatives to make it work. Anyone have thoughts? Or maybe you know a spot to find directions with oem brake booster? I tried a Google search and get nothing.

Unfortunately you will need to buy more parts, chasebays always has revisions that the "forget to put pictures together for" I think they f#$K up and just hose the customer.
I had to buy quite a few pieces to get the chase bays kit to work... like every line I needed and all the fittings.

You need two T's. If you dont have 2 you need to tell them.
Its a fairly easy install ill take pictures of mine when I have some time later this week.
Which kit did you get? The in bay or behind the firewall?

Figured I was improperly supplied. Can I get a T fitting from my local auto parts store? Never had a reason to look before. If so, I'll probably just run with that. I'm gonna have to get a couple unions anyway. It doesn't look complex to do, but not having the proper parts supplied always makes it harder. I got the in cabin setup

Colors..that's my next problem. Was thinking Wrb to match my car, but not clear coated to keep it slightly matte. Was also thinking, anything I wanted to hide, spraying wrb. Anything isolated I want to pop, wrb. However, I'm afraid of too much blue. anyone have thoughts? I don't want a car I'm scared to drive for fear of things getting dirty, but I also want something people will notice. I've seen one tucked subaru and it was 3 hours away, so I'm amped to have something different, I just don't want something to be overwhelming in it. Gahh!

I thought wrb piping, black couplers, polished alternator, polished power steering pump, polished ac compressor would look awesome.
Don't go excessive with the blue tho then it'll start to blend in too much.

I don't know about polished things on a somewhat dd. Most definitely looks sharp though. I'm going to have to do something about my power steering pump and alternator though since I cant think of hiding them. Ac has been pulled out, gonna pull my connections on the firewall and have the holes covered. My brake booster I was going to do blue so it hides with the bay, wires will be kept black. I do want it slightly colorful though. Not sure if I put it on my other post, but I've been toying with a silver bay, and other things blue, like my manifold, headers, timing covers and valve covers. Unfortunately, theres nothing on Google images that doesn't have polished things

Silver bay and booster.
With wrb rotated manifold, silver rotated piping with v-bands, wrb/blue dress up bolt kit.
And satin black alternator, satin black power steering, satin black ac compressor and lines.

Boost control. gonna be running an EBCS, maybe a hybrid EBCS/MBC, or if I can find a work around, just an MBC. any way, where are you running the EBCS? Not seeing anything on the bays. how about your MAF sensor? Gonna be running the loom with that st of wires under the subframe upfront, outside the cross member and back up just in front of the subframe. Already have the wiring on my engine figured out, just have to figure out my EBCS and MAF wire. again, going to be a fairly DD with minimal, if any, winter sights. contemplating removing my whole cabin heater setup, but that will be simple enough if i decide to.

So do any of you guys have advice on alternatives to welding? I'd love to weld everything shut, but I don't have a welder, and the car is ripped apart so I can't get it over to one. I'd like to get started on painting the bay next week, but I'd like to eliminate some of the holes first. However, I want it to look clean and well done.
I was thinking of backing the small holes using something like SteelStik to fill them up, then cutting aluminum panels for the left and right sides and riveting them into place. Anyone have thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks!

It may sound ghetto to some in here but I didn't have a welder either and my bay is fully shaved not one hole. For the little bolt holes and what not I used metal tape from the opposite side and put body filler over it. Its just used for a backing. Then for the bigger fender holes and where the battery tray was I used stainless sheet metal cut out to fit how I want and drilled holes and riveted the panels on. Then grinded down the rivet just alittle just enough not to pop it, added body filler, primer them spot putty in little spots needing it.
I did all the work in my garage including paint and haven't had an issue with the body work so far. I finished in January and still looks perfect. Only issue I had is I sprayed the bay when it was kinda cold out and after about a month some paint cracked a hair. I just sanded it back down with the engine still in and re sprayed it. Looks perfect again. That was my bad though spraying when it was cold out.

Awesome, thanks under0athh51189! I would never have guessed that looking at the photos.
I think I'll do a similar thing, though I'll try that two-part steel paste so that I can grind on it. I'm planning on using POR15 Topcoat on my engine bay; it's self leveling and crazy durable. Plus it fights rust. I've had it on a few other automotive applications (painted my whole motorcycle with it), and it hold up really well; even against fuel/oil/coolant.

I have a welder but didn't feel like welding mine. I used similar thickness sheet metal and panel bonded it to the backside. Has held up nicely so far. Then used body filler made for thicker applications.
Oh...for the smaller holes I glued nickels and quarters on the backside. :)

Crap, I just threw all my loose change into a Coinstar machine! Otherwise I'd have had a bucket of pennies to go crazy with. The $50 I made will at least pay for sheet metal and rivets :D
Thanks for sharing! I'd pretty syked now; I was worried that if I didn't weld it all up, I'd botch it. It sounds doable now!

I like it. Little steel box, with appropriate tube to connect to turbo is all?

Thats like saying the space shuttle is just a glider. But sure!
Its an aluminum box thats been thermal coated, with a double O ring seal on the turbo. The lower base ring is machined to fit the air filter exactly and the upper is machined to fit a sealing rubber ring built into the filter to produce an air tight seal.

So, not really something an every day schmuck could do.... bummer. Trying to find ideas for mine without running the intake into my fender. I could survive without tubbing my bay and just cleaning up the edges dp they aren't so ugly, but the tubs look beautiful

What do you guys do about all the vacuum lines going to the intake manifold? Do you make a vacuum block or just block them off?

I'll be capping all but one of the vacuum lines, then running that to a vacuum manifiold.

Not like he did. But that doesn't mean an every day schmuck couldn't do something similar.
Your factory air box isn't thermal coated, double o ringed, air tight sealed to anything. So that top mount air cleaner doesn't need to be either.

Just starting on my front tub and shave.
Decided to make my own tubs rather than go with the trailer fender route. The left side is just sitting there, thats not how I'm installing it :P
