Underoath, I need to pick your brain a little bit, man.
I extended out the wiring that goes to the fusebox. I ran that through the hole in front of the clutch pedal. It then goes along the dash bar and am going to re solder it on after the fusebox gets mounted into the glove box.

What did you do with the rest of your harness ?(the part under the intake mani)
I've been thinking about extending mine out backwards to the trans and the back around into the fenders.

I mounted my fusebox under my headlight. As for the wiring under the mani I still ran it under there just tucked it more and cut off what I didn't need. Its still running the stock fire wall hole just tucked close to the block and up and around
kidrage 02-21-2014 11:02 PM

Underoath your car is my inspiration this weekend to get to work on mine. Nice job!

Just need to go black or polish out that alternator. It stands out next to all that other shiny stuff.

Also are you running speed density or is the velocity stack just for show?
seascooby 02-21-2014 11:20 PM

did the old lady's evo. can't wait to get this finished up.

haha thanks man. and im pulling the alternator and polishing it in the next few weeks.

as for the my tune im running aem ems so im just tuned strictly off that. I run the velocity stack 24/7 when I take it out of the garage. and never run a hood. I don't even own a filter or intake for my turbo. lol I just runn the stack with a piece of aluminum screen under it.

How much does it usually cost to shave/wire tuck your engine bay??
How much does it usually cost to shave/wire tuck your engine bay??
It all depends how far you go, if you do it all yourself or have a shop do it, if you fab up brake lines or buy a Kit. It depends on alot of things. Im in it probably like $1500 and that's doing all labor myself including paint. I bought the brake line Kit with booster and abs delete, PS reservoir and lines,.clutch line, grounding Kit, catch can and radiator overflow from ChaseBays though

update for the homies. so my bay looked great for about 2 weeks now my crappy paint job is starting to yellow where I put bondo. not sure why but I did 2 coats of prime, 2 coats of base and 3 coats of clear. end of story taking it to a local shop I know and they are redoin the spots on the wheels wells and shock towers to fix it. FML
05subysti 02-25-2014 09:04 PM

Not enough coats? Well that sucks.
under0athh51189 02-25-2014 09:33 PM

Yeah im not sure. Im a newb at painting it looked great for about 2 weeks then started to bleed through. Talked to the paint shop they said either crap primer cause I don't think it was 2x or because we used no sealer. He said it happens with white if you don't do it perfect. All good though he's hooking me up. No need to pull the engine he's gonna wrap everything then sand it to the base, prime and seal it then spray it again. Should be glass he said
WickedWagonz 02-27-2014 08:45 AM

I hate to hear about your paint bro! Your bay looks amazing though hope i can do mine that clean one day
under0athh51189 02-27-2014 07:53 PM

Thanks man and its all good. Should be fixed next week. Im not a painter but just wanted to say I did it all myself which I did so all good
erok81 02-27-2014 10:55 PM

Well. A TurboSX FMIC doesn't work with a shaved bay. Don't ask me how I know. :(
Well. A TurboSX FMIC doesn't work with a shaved bay. Don't ask me how I know. :(
Huh. What do you mean. What the piping doesn't route through the right fender hole is my guess and you already shaved the other one
erok81 02-27-2014 11:22 PM

Yep. I have no holes in the fender anymore.

So both pipes need to route down below through the lower holes.

I think I can do it with a few more couplers and a chop saw. :)
under0athh51189 02-28-2014 10:27 AM

Yeah you can make it work. I only left one open in the passenger side for the hot side pipe
erok81 02-28-2014 12:23 PM

I'm going to try to get it work without cutting a hole in my fender well. We'll see though.
I'm going to try to get it work without cutting a hole in my fender well. We'll see though.
Just route it like a rotated setup or a rotated manifold.
Mitus 02-28-2014 11:50 PM

Looks awesome, but also looks like a lot of work

form>function, no good !
erok81 03-01-2014 01:26 AM
form>function, no good !
Exactly. Not going through the fender well = shorter ic pipes. That was most of the reason I wanted to avoid the fender well b

Since I panel bonded everything together a simple tap with a mini sledge popped out the plug for that hole. Then I just routed the pipe through the fender hole it was supposed to go though.

In the process I still managed to drop about 2-3 feet of ic pipe. So that was a plus.
ScoobyJD 03-01-2014 04:06 AM

Getting ready to take my engine bay fuse panel to the fender or **** pit. Which is easier. Postitive and negatives of each situation. First time doing this, any help is appreciated.
Well. A TurboSX FMIC doesn't work with a shaved bay. Don't ask me how I know. :(
I reversed my intake manifold, rotated the turbo inlet downwards and chopped up the xs fmic piping to make it drop down right behind the passenger headlight. I only needed one weld and 2 couplers which you cant see on each bottom side to keep piping together. The weld was really to make more visually appealing off the tb.

If you relocate inside cockpartment you will have to extend wires, right ?

That sounds like a lot of work and needs to be done carefully.
erok81 03-01-2014 03:24 PM

If you daily drive it I'd do inside.

On my car I moved the fuse box under the dash and my washer bottle in the bumper. So I didn't have room for the fuse box anyway. Not to mention I didn't want my fuse box full of dirty salty water.

As far as extending all you do is headlight stuff, the fans, the horns, and one air bag sensor. Nothing you can really mess up (except the air bag sensor).

Now if you mean glove box or fender, then fender for sure. I didn't want to mess with sensor/shielded wires on mine.
ScoobyJD 03-01-2014 04:49 PM

What is a cockpartment? Hahaha

Any pictures erko?
kidrage 03-01-2014 05:33 PM

Is the wiring needed to extend the fuse box all the same guage and if so what is it?
YZ86 03-03-2014 02:43 PM

quick question. I am planning relocate my ABS pump under the stock location. do the lengths of hard lines matter? Can they be shorter or longer than wot they originally were or will this affect the distribution?
Very good example of all show and no go.
perfect example of a pointless post.

It's a shaved and tucked thread.. What do you expect?

Besides his car is absolutely sick
05subysti 03-19-2014 10:06 AM

Serkan supposedly it makes more than 500hp.

Under oath, dyno video asap lol

Anyone have a good detail walk through of trailer tubs in their bay?

That's my next accomplishment.
Serkan 03-19-2014 12:48 PM

Sorry I have no respect for people doing all that work and leaving the most crucial part on a car which is suspension and handling.

It makes 500whp 2 inches off the ground with his suspension geometry who knows where. That is all show and no go.

It is just like working out in the gym for your biceps, chest only, nothing for legs. So girls think you are hot and that is what you do it for.

This guy probably does it to look cool, performance is not his thing.

Oh yea he has 500whp that can roll on the dyno. He prolly needs help to get it on the dyno too.
under0athh51189 03-19-2014 01:06 PM

Damn so much hate in here. Wtf. This is the shaved bay thread not who makes the most power thread. Never said my car made 500whp only makes 350whp as of now on the low boost conservative tune on it. Retuning next month only going for 400whp until the block is built.

But im glad its your car and you pay for it so it concerns you so much. Would you like my car if I lifted it up and put some rotas on it? Yes its a show car. No not trailer queen either its driven when I feel like it and driven to all shows including the track. No its not raced all the time but is driven spiritually everytime I bring it out. I build my car for me, what I like not what you like. Have good day

ill have some videos soon waiting for my retune
Serkan 03-19-2014 03:08 PM

Well, it is not my concern and your car. You say it is a show car and I was right about "all show and no go". I just made a true statement not hating.

Maybe negative comments put some sense into you and for others in the future.

It is just sad how people (young guys) choose that cool slammed, flush look and don't care how they make their ride under performed in most important part of the car.

In some cases form>function is understandable but this kind of form is just wrong. Me and other people who thinks same way are just pointing it out, not hating.

Good job with shaving and let's get on topic.
