I wanted to do that.. but most of the thread is filled with bitching back and forth. I just wanted to cut to the chase.

How's it going?

Also any words yet on deleting the abs from the cars?
Haven't gotten to install anything yet waiting for my car to be done getting the rotated setup built still. Should be done in a week or two. They had to custom make my turbo and make my aem wiring harness
That guy in Maine 03-09-2013 10:10 PM

Anybody done a BRZ yet?

Or dedication to and a passion for building a unique vehicle/example of mechanical perfection. :derp:

Anyone can buy parts and slap them together. To take the time to bring them together perfectly is where a true builder/enthusiast makes himself/herself known.

If you add up the time and money spent, it will never make sense. But that's not the point of a build. At least that's my perspective.

You make solid points. Mad props for people that pull this off but I get a headache just from routing a boost line and amp power in a clean/OEM way haha. But some people don't even do that!

I did it because I firmly believe that builds should be inspirational. It took four or five months to finish mine in chunks in my garage, but I can tell you that even though some aspects are time consuming, tedious, and frustrating, it's worth it in the end.

No self loathing involved, maybe some boredom and plenty of liquor.

The end result is so worth it, every time I open the hood to check my oil I step back and bask in the glory of an uncluttered engine bay.

Took me about 3 weeks just to find a nice place for all the random wires and crap crammed in there from the factory.

Its all about what you want out of your car at the end of the day.

I'll have to take better pics of the whole bay but having n/a motor allows alot cleaner bay with nothing on either side of the motor

This is where it sat as of last night.

My wiring solution, in the works. I know on a GD without an airbag, this sort of arrangement would work as well but I don't know how many of you are looking to make new chassis harnesses from the ground up....but then again, this is a shaved bay thread--we're all masochists.

nvm im an idoit right now... just woke up
shultz2 03-19-2013 08:42 PM

so im sure this has been covered and ill be flamed. BUT i am slowly shaving as the time permits, and i am curious to where everyone is running their main harness through? i want to take it out of the fender, due to i have no fender liners. and i was curious if anyone ran theirs through the firewall and if so which hole are you sticking it in? or creating your own?
arisking 03-21-2013 12:56 AM

I am using the hole under the brake booster for my harness. I took the main harness and put it back into the steering column area and fed it out a grommet to the engine bay and plugged in the engine harness from there.

Works well and it's decently hidden. I'm sure there's always better ideas though, but it works.

Hey guys I have D Money's abs delete up for sale In the classifieds. It's ready to go easy to install. Fits 02-07 bays. If anyone is interested pm me or him.

Bad Wagon 03-26-2013 10:38 AM

The abs delete is easy. Just get a Brighton non-abs master and relocate your stock dizzy block. Get some 1/8" line and a flaring tool. Re-use your stock m10 fittings and get some nice line clamps to hold them to the body. Takes me about 3-4 hours to do an entire system. D-Moneys setup is sweet but way overkill and over thought. I bet pretty pricy too. My next setup will have an adjustable bias controller and a hydraulic e-brake Ill be posting it in my Forester build thread after I part out the road course parts and buy the new stuff.

My new setup will be super clean. Especially with the radiator in the back... :)

edit-what do you mean by dizzy?
Bad Wagon 03-26-2013 11:14 AM

I was refuring to the rear distribution block or stock bias controller.

gotcha. do you have pics of a setup in one of your threads?
Bad Wagon 03-26-2013 12:36 PM

I have pics of an ABS delete in both the Project ForeSTAR and Project Girodisc Legacy, and relocated ABS pumps in the Project Swapped GC8, and Project Toyota Celaru STi

These are all projects of mine so you will see patterns in my methods. The new project will be pretty extensive in the drivetrain, suspension, and exterior but the engine bay will be going through some heavy mods do to nessecity of space (monster coilovers and upper control arms....)

Girodisc Project Legacy: (towards the end)

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1769902&highlight=girodisc+legacy

ForeSTAR: (this ones a little in depth)

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2256988&highlight=girodisc+legacy

These 2 are ABS pump Relocation:

Project Toyota Celaru STi: (This has good info and more people need to visit her again...:) )

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1840729&highlight=celaru

Project Swapped GC8: (This one has a great detailed clean engine bay build)

Take off drivers fender, put motor harness inside car through the hole it comes out of, then in the dash, which needs to be removed, and out the brake booster hole into the bay.

No extension needed.

Any thoughts on mounting the abs pump in the trunk area? I have been contemplating this but don't know if there are any drawbacks to having it in that location.

heres some updated pics of mine. almost done. rotated setup and aem getting finished up now then tuning, wait a few months then on to the pulling the motor and finishing it up. also new shoes just came in so those are going on as well.

I don't mind no AC and I still have PS bout to relocate it though with the ChaseBays Kit I have along with a bunch of other stuff. Then full shave. It's not my dd I have a 02 wrx wagon for a dd with AC only stg 2
master c 03-31-2013 03:45 PM

I have another question about the abs relocation - does the abs have to be oriented a certain direction or can it be mounted upside down or a different angle? I have been told it doesn't matter how you mount it by some people and others say it has a sensor in it that requires it to be mounted the same direction as oem. I am working with a '00 2.5rs abs setup and the wiring diagram does not indicate any such sensor....
subarutah 04-01-2013 01:12 AM
