Well, it's a process, that's for sure. Some parts are easy, some are hard, some just requires a lot of hard work.
None of us were experts when we started, and even though I've made progress I will always have things to learn.
Update: Richie, make sure you order a circuit breaker!

Yeah I got your cell. Did a lot of research on in-line circuit breakers, and ended up going with a 200amp Stinger. In line 200-300 amp fuses are just too expensive when they go. Only question is if some breakers which can function as a kill switch are SCCA legal, or if an additional killswitch is required for SCCA events.

I have the parts sourced for the re-invention of my bay.. Just taking delivery of the turbo from Ultimate Racing hopefully on Friday. My goal is to get the intake manifold all trimmed and ready for fitting tonight..
So sad that those a$$holes had to ruin my engine bay.. it was nice and pretty :(

I have a question for you Guru's. A/c related. I'm slowly working on cleaning things up. More planning than anything right now. Whatever happens, I drive 30k+ miles a year on it, so I want to keep my a/c. BUT, as of right now, all the lines are cleared (TMIC rubbed a hole in one). So I replaced the damaged line, but wondering how you guys would go about this.
For those who are wondering, there are really only 2 lines I'm primarily in question: The big black one (mind the pun ;)) that runs from the firewall to the compressor, and from the compressor to the condenser (? part in front of the rad). There is another hardline that runs underneath these, but its not as visible. I could just paint it white as-well for camouflage.
I'm going to try to upload a picture so it maybe easier for me to explain or have the explaining done. :)
Edit: I know there is no tuck or shave, don't kill me, I'm planning and planning so I can execute smoothly ;)

How come there aren't many tubbed wheel wells?
I plan on doing mine eventually, since my front wheels rub full lock.
Any tips or DIYs?

Following removal of cruise control and after a discussion with Richy, exploring ways to clean up the throttle cable... tried gently rerouting it... half-way successful. It works but too much stress is causing throttle issues.

Paint looks good. I can tell you from my experience that you went the much, much easier/faster route. I have so much time in mine, and it still is not half as good as some of these. It was done 100% by me in my garage. I am sure it could have been done much faster by a pro.

Yeah I still want mine to be fully functional so I'm not going all out and crazy with it. I am also having professionals do it, partly because I'm still in Afghanistan and partly because I just don't have the time to have the car torn apart, and partly because I'm a sissy when it comes to jobs of that nature.

Flip your throttle body upside down, and then run the throttle cable underneath the intake manifold on a bracket. That is how I will be running my DBC throttle body on my 2.5 RS reversed intake manifold.

That only works with drive by wire. On a cable setup the iacv won't let you do that in any reasonable way that I know of.

Well then don't mind me, I guess. How does that work though? The passage cor the iacv would be blocked if you flipped the throttle body. Just tightening the throttle cable until it idles decent, or some other simple solution I'm over looking?

You would basically need to drill holes in the intake manifold for air to flow into the iacv. Possibly even an adapter plate

Damn. That's a good idea. I'm concerned about the throttle cable though... one thing I definitely learned during this process is if curves are too sharp, it's really not happy! Any pics of the bracket setup? I will seriously look into this.
Anyone have any pics of there relocated fuel filter?
One option is a smaller in-line fuel filter. Currently looking into this myself.. plenty of options at Summit.
In other updates, spent about four hours last night installing a Jegs battery relocation kit, distribution block, and in-line fuse with built in kill switch. Hell of a lot of work to do it right, but it's definitely worth it. Now to clean up all those extra wires.. ;)

YEP No one can touch that bay bro. Sad to see you part it out, but i'm sure you will be a lot happier in the GTR. Hopefully you'll drive this one and enjoy the car the way it was meant to be, beating the piss out of it every week lol:devil:

Over the last week, relocated battery (Jegs kit with inline 200amp circuit breaker, kill switch, and distribution block) and fuse box into quarterpanel... shaved down the engine bay but no paint yet. Looking pretty damn raw. Still have a few wires to extend and reroute, but def getting there.

The Jegs kit was about $100, the circuit breaker and distribution block were about $15ish each. Ended up buying some extra 4 gauge wire for the starter for $7.
I wanted a box large enough to fit the Optima Redtop, which is a pretty sizeable battery... tons of room, but also a setup that would be SCCA legal, hence the rest of the setup.

Reading more into engine harness modifications -- for wire-to-wire crimping/soldering, any input on solder & seal heath shrink terminals?

Made some good progress today on the wiring harness, but definitely a long ways to go. For now, finally sharing some pics of the trunk setup:
