Don't recall if I posted these here, JCS single a-pillar pod with AEM AFR gauge, wrapped in alcantra, with red stitching. Yes, the STI logo on the pillars is also stitched on.

Anyone ever used Innovate dual reading gauges? Looking specifically at the oil temp/pressure.
How reliable is the reading?

Most of us that go that route are looking for discreet options, so I've been wondering how to best add a third gauge. I don't want 3 on the A-pillar, but one down low looks pretty okay! Anybody else have a similar combo with the SMY?

Thanks. BTW, the wrapping and stitching was done by JPM. I bought the JCS single pod myself, shipped it to them along with the passenger side pillar to create a matching pair. I am planning to wrap the vents and the V trim on front dash to create a more cohesive theme inside.

have any of you purchased gauges through no limit motorsports?
Looks like they've got decent prices for defi gauges. Just curious at the reputability of the store.

I have had 2 JCS pods and they are OK, definitely not OEM quality. The molding of the pod Is decent but the plastic texture does not match the OEM pod. Also, both of mine cracked eventually where the molding attached to the pillar, both sometime during the summer. My guess is that different materials expand/contract at different rates in summer's heat and eventually stress cracks form. After looking at that for some time, it started to bug me. Hence the wrapping. Now it looks fantastic. My $0.02.

Thanks. JPM did an excellent job wrapping it and adding the STI logo. The wrapped dual pod alone is a bit out of place, IMO, but once I added the pillars, it starts to flow and looks more cohesive. I highly recommend it.

If you want high quality, Defi is the way to go. It is a premium gauge brand and when it comes to electronics, more often than not, you really get what you pay for. IMO, buying Defi and then cracking them open is like buying an Aston and putting Megan wheels on it. Almost good. Obviously, this is my opinion and you can do anything you like but if you are reaching for this brand, ask yourself this, will you be able to match the level of quality modding them yourself?

Are you guys with 08+ models running your wires through the firewall behind the intercooler or through the left fender area? I want to pass through the fender but not sure if eight feet will be long enough.
| awenthol | 02-07-2014 08:42 AM |
There's a harness at the passenger firewall that will work for certain gauges but yes, no problem with driver's side fender harness--just pull back the fender liner and push the wires through.
| alt14 | 02-07-2014 08:56 AM |
Thanks! And that'll be short enough to have eight feet of wire from the boost sensor to an smy bezel?

Riddle me this, why for the 02-07 clock pod has NO ONE produced a pod that actually points the clock pod gauges at the driver :furious: Instead the gauges point directly at the back seat  like WTF. I would rather be able to read the gauges than a person in my back seat.
| iconone | 02-07-2014 09:21 AM |
^ that would be nice but I have no problems reading the gauges the way it sits. They probably make them that way so both passenger and driver can see them.

You can run an 8ft harness through the passenger side firewall, through the dash and to the smy pod, with a bunch of wire to spare.
You can run an 8ft harness through the passenger side firewall, through the dash and to the smy pod, with a bunch of wire to spare.

Thank you sir, the drivers side fender should be enough then.
Are you guys with 08+ models running your wires through the firewall behind the intercooler or through the left fender area? I want to pass through the fender but not sure if eight feet will be long enough.
The first time I ran wires to the dash, I used the big grommet behind the downpipe. I just pushed it in, passed the wires through, then pulled it back out into position. The wires were ran from the lower end of the grommet so that they were less visible.
When I decided to replace my boost gauge, I pulled everything out and used the grommet behind the intercooler following Overland04's gauge install thread. I had my gauges over the cluster trim, but then made my own triple gauge pod to go on the clock area. Did it because I thought it was better to have all the wires coming through the same place.

It might have gone away prior to the 2011.
There was a reason why I went through the fender...

There is a grommet location below and behind the top mount intercooler on 2011 wrx. I know this because I made a video on how to install a boost gauge that I'm currently in the process of editing to be put on YouTube.

I'd rather go through the fender as well, it just seems more of a simple route then from behind the intercooler but that's just me.

02-07 has grommets under the brake booster area its a little tight to get to but they exist.
idk if that goes for the new ones also
