the post directly above yours has gauges on the a-pillar (which is the part of the door frame where the door window "meets" the windshield.
I also have a boost gauge in an a-pillar gauge pod (just put it in this weekend)

Looks just like mine in the post above yours. If it's the same then it's the Lotek triple a-pillar pod. I just painted all my pillars and roof liner black.

yes they were 02-07 specific. i put the guages in and ran the wires out of the bottom then it screws into the stock a-pillar covering the entire piece. Lotek doesn't make an 08+ piece...yet. I couldn't find one anyway.

Hey... Your setup/software looks awesome!
I had a couple of questions... your profile says you have an '05; I'm curious as to how you're pulling data for so many parameters at 65Hz; that's pretty damn fast. Are you using OBD/SSM? Or you hooked up to custom sensors?

It's software running on Windows. The computer is under the passenger seat. The data is not coming from the ODB data stream, however I am working on including it. There are a number of sensors connected to a piece of hardware which measures the sensors and feeds the data to the PC via USB. The hardware can measure 8 sensors, but additional devices can be used to increase capacity beyond 8. Currently working on hardware for thermocouples (4 per device) and modifying the software to measure temperatures (EGT).
Eventually it will be commercially available, but too busy with a new dotcom startup right now to make much progress.

Gotchya. I just checked out your write up on it. I am currently looking at the Zeitronix sensors with LCD screen to possibly put in the dash clock. I'm having trouble choosing between that or a multiple gauge setup. IMO a dangerous condition would be more easily noticed when viewing a gauge versus looking at numbers on an lcd, unless there is a way to program alarms into the latter. I guess I am too picky, but I am not impressed by the mounting options for gauges. I don't even like my stock boost gauge all that much. It looks out of place.

thanks! I researched a lot and looked at this thread forever, buuuut all of the gauge pods here didn't mount in a way that i really liked. I really dug the autometer bezel pods buuuuut they stopped making em n i heard bad things about the newer aftermarket ones, n then the ati cluster pod looked good but i didnt know how visiblity would be with my gauge cluster so i just got those cups. I truly love the look and with everythign being black, its super subtle, most people never know i have gauges until i show or tell them. that would surely changed if i went with the 3 prosports :unamused:

I don't have one that's zoomed out more but it's a great pod for a 60mm gauge and really has an OEM look.

I just threw in my Prosport mechanical Boost and Prosport EGT in white/green on my wagon. I used an ebay $16 autometer knock off dual gauge bezel which had HORRIBLE fitment but after some time with the heat gun it fits OK. I also Plasti-Dip'd it because that awful fake carbon wrap they had on it was fugly.

just installed my AEM wideband and tru-boost in my 2011 WRX, used to STRI gauge pods on the steering wheel column.....
was to cheap to buy the SMY gauge cluster, but my gauge pods will have to do for now.

I have the same boost gauge in the same pod (though I got lucky and got a black one :p) and it tilts out on the right side as well. I have some soft-side velcro in the pod itself to hold the gauge snug but it still pushes that right half outward.

I'm sure someone has possibly done this already but I didn't feel like going through 100+ pages. So here's my i guess you can say custom boost gauge install. Sorry about the crappy IPhone pics.
Now you see it...

I'm just trying to keep the interior clean and sleeper looking. You can see it in the gap of the steering wheel btw. If you don't like it then don't like it..

I understand your "trying to keep it clean" but when you put it to use it would seem to be a hazard. That's all I'm saying. I prefer to not have to look away from the road while I drive to monitor any of my gauges.

I guess that the monitoring of it does kind of suck but when wrx's are the hot car to steal these days (in my neighborhood at least) I don't want it to scream break into me, take me for a joy ride, and strip me out.

Picked up a VMR vent pod and boost gauge. Im happy with how it turned out. Super cheap too.

Yeah not too bad in direct sunlight. When I buy a mounting pod it needs to have a visor though.

Can I request a picture of:
an outside view from the car, of the gauges, with the windows up(and %tint), at night?
I got an A pillar with gauges on right now and at night they stick out so much because they're so bright. Didn't realize it would be like that and is getting too ricey and attention-getting? Right now I have no tint on my car but thinking about getting tint to make the gauges less noticeable. Or if that doesn't work then get new gauges or relocate them behind the steering wheel

I'll see if I can get a pic of my gauges at night and my windows are tinted pretty dark...personally it's only ricey if you have gauges installed that aren't necessary like having a boost gauge on a car with no turbo lol
