Post pics of your gauges setup part 32
Ok, finally, here are mine. Maddad V2 Clarity in Autometer pod with gauge visors. I also have the OEM boost gauge, a Kocklite and a colour-matched clock/calendar/thermometer mounted on the little visor above the mirror. Oh, and ignore the wideband, it's temporary. :)
kocklite huh :p :p

When I do my turbo swap, I prefer to get the Lamco/OEM, or similar aftermarket, column-mounted boost gauge. Unless I can find a really clean-looking one that mounts at the bottom of the A-pillar, right by the windshield in the corner.

This pic sucks:

Except now, the triple gauges are in the empty DIN below the HU, and the dash pod has the factory compass gauge pack:

I'll be doing my defi's very soon for my STI and had a quick question if someone wouldn't mind answering. I have read quite a few writeups on the install and wasn't able to find the answer. My question has to do with the Oil pressure guage and connecting it to the galley plug. I have been recommended to get the gallery plug from subaru, but I cannot find it anywhere here in canada... but the guage comes with a reducer fitting that appears that it should just screw into the plug. Is that correct? I can just use the fitting that came in the defi box and I should be fine?
It's the most OEM looking setup for the BF gauges, IMO. Quality and fitment are pretty impressive. It's made of fiberglass and painted with a nice textured surface which matches the interior pretty well. Only downside is that it's pricey.
Thats a really nice gauge holder. Especially when you wanna separate the boost gauge away from the oil press, oil temp etc gauges that are usually placed on the centre console.
iri_tuan 04-18-2007 01:28 AM

Heres mines, nothing to fancy for now, just a Defi Imperial BF series Boost with the CU

I paid about $70 for the Autometer Bezel pod. Search this thread:

for my user name as I give some instruction on how to do the LED mod in the gauge cluster. It's very time consuming. You can tackle it in probably about 4-5 hrs start to finish taking your time.
And why do you need two Pyros?
since my post was back around 1808, I guess I haven't kept up on this thread

the pyro on the dash pod is dead. It's just a place holder for now. use to have my boost gauge there and then moved things around a couple of times. Also explains the mismatching faces. it's a work in progress.
Thats wierd as hell. I think some people try to make it easier for them to read the gauges and in the end it doesnt work out. I have my Omori`s tilted so slightly that you`ll think they`re level.
I re-clocked the gauges after the first time I went to the track. It's much easier to glance over and see " Straight up = all good" than to try to read an EGT gauge with the needle buried in the lower right end of the gauge, while on the race track.

I don't really read the number, but just check to see where the needle is pointing. It works pretty well.

Quick question for those of you with Omori electronic boost gauges - Where did you attach the boost solenoid? The unit that the boost tubing attaches to one end, and the sensor wires are on the other end? Please?

DEFI Blue Racer Gauges in a Gauge Bezel from MACH V.
Install a MACH V as well, (well actually Ultimate). They are great highly recommended.

That would be a turbo timer (or tt for short). It lets the car keep running after you take the key out so the turbo can spool down and not get oil starved. Although there is disagreement on this....
JustinWRX1 05-17-2007 05:21 PM

and what would that disagreement be and what are the more popular ones so i can get one if needed!

The color isn't 100% match but damn close to it. The STRI gauges are alittle more red than the cluster.

digitalboy40 05-18-2007 09:04 AM
anyone going to answer my ?
The disagreement is that because of the advancement in turbo technology these days turbo timers aren't necessarily needed as they were back in the old days of turbo cars. As far as the best one's their pretty much all the same; HKS, Blitz, AVO, Trust/Greddy...just a matter of preference if you want one.
arco 06-03-2007 06:18 PM

to those of you who have the cluster bezel pods, is it hard for you to see your 52mm gauges (more specifically to the left gauge)? i just picked one up and it is a bit hard to check it out as the wheel gets in the way. fast feedback would be great to help me decide if i should just go with a pod on top of the steering column or a dash pod. thanks.

very easy to see... you can read your cluster right?
arco 06-04-2007 01:50 AM

yeah but the gauge is sitting lower than the cluster and is much smaller in comparison. i can read it but it can be a little bothersome trying to. anyone else with a review? are most of you who have this setup using the autometer cluster bezel or the replica? thanks
