Anyone paint the stock silver interior trim black?

Just wondering what it'd look like. I don't like the CF look but it might look better w/ everything (i.e. all the silver bits) dark. (except my Subaru/Momo knob would no longer match  )
thanks

black might be interesting, are you thinking gloss or flat black?
i am thinking of doing mine in a very dark, flat gunmetal color to darken the interior a bit. i want to do the door switch panels (where the window switch is) and the gauge cluster surround (inside the cluster, behind the clear plastic) in the same color.

Wasn't really thinking of either, but probably flat... I guess I should just photoshop it or something

Hmm. My 00 wagon is black on the top and beige on the bottom. I was thinking about just buying new stock parts in black but I never condisered painting them. This could be intresting. What brand/make of paint would you use though? I think the interior pieces are pressed vinyl so you'd need something thats good with plastics.

Any thoughts given to those companies that make stick-on replacements for that stuff? I've never even looked at them for a minute, so feel free to laugh at me if their quality really sucks, but might be an option. Though those who have painted their dashes, when done CORRECTLY, looks pretty nice. I agree - I have the "silver" trim and can't stand how fugly it is. Of course, I'm not exactly dying to get "burled walnut" in there either.

a nice flat black would look good for the trim, i don't think a glossy one would look that great, u should try it and if u don't like how it comes out, it will give u a reason to order the cf trim

Hmmm, I don't know I think gloss would be ugly.... But flat... now were talking, paint that stuff flat black and you'd have a sweet interior....

Maybe some of the Testor's model paints would work? I know people have used them to blacken or redden taillights before...

Unless you redo the head liner, you're going to have a grey/black intersection somewhere. Maybe he just thought it would be easier to leave the a-pillar alone? I agree that it would probably look better painted at the dash intersection, but then again I think having the black/grey at the top would look worse.
Neil.

i just painted my interior pieces a gun-metal type color this past weekend.

I did mine the same color as the car (WRB) and I did use a testors model paint. Worked GREAT! I highly recommend it
Found Testors Blue Pearl in the Wal-Mart model isle.

Thats my car. Didn't paint the A pillar as I am looking at custom cf the whole thing ... along with my trims too.
Yes, painting the trims really integrate the car nicely. But thats just me, as everything in my car is black anyway.

I was thinking about using Nightshades on mine- so you could still see the silver a little but it would look black too.
